The  Sonoma  State  University  Equestrian  Team  needs  the  help  of  you  –  our  community  -‐  for  our  2014-‐2015  season!  Last  Year  we  sent  two  girls  to  Nationals  in  Pennsylvania  and  hope  to  get  that  far  this  year  in  competition!    

The  Sonoma  State  University  Equestrian  Team  was  chartered   in  2008  and  offers  students   the  unique  opportunity   to   compete   in   horse   shows   at   the   collegiate   level.     The   Team   and   the   opportunity   to  compete  is  having  an  amazing  impact  on  the  lives  of  many  Sonoma  State  students,  providing  them  with  a  community  of  like-‐minded  horse  enthusiasts  with  whom  they  can  grow  and  share  in  their  experiences,  knowledge   and   love  of   horses.     The   Equestrian   Team   is   guided  by   an   elected  board  of   Sonoma   State  students  and  adheres  to  acceptable  policy  and  guidelines  established  by  the  University.    

The   Sonoma   State   University   Equestrian   Team   is   a   member   of   the   Intercollegiate   Horse   Show  Association.    Established  in  1967,  the  Association  enables  students  to  participate  in  team  programs  and  local,   regional,   and   national   competitions.   Although   students   are   responsible   for   funding   their   own  equipment,  attire,  lessons,  travel,  and  show  entry  fees,  additional  funds  are  needed  to  fully  participate  in  all  of   the   team  events  and  activities.    Our  primary   revenue  sources   that  keep  our   team  functioning  are:   club   dues   paid   by   students;   proceeds   from   Team-‐driven   fundraising   events   and   donations   from  individuals  and  businesses  like  yours.      

In  order  to  continue  to  make  this  rewarding  experience  a  reality  for  the  students  of  the  Sonoma  State  University  Equestrian  Team,   and   to  be  able   to   fully  participate   in  all  of   the  available  activities  on   the  collegiate  level,  we  need  your  support.
