Austin Film Festival is a 24-year-old arts organization serving over 25,000 people annually with year-round programming, film and screenplay competitions, a young filmmakers program, and, what it is probably best known around the world for, its annual October Austin Film Festival & Conference.

It was the first event of its kind to bring professional and amateur screenwriters (and now filmmakers) together to celebrate the role of the screenplay in filmmaking and discuss the considerable creative possibilities of writing for film and television. Equally important, the Conference assembled producers,

agents and screenwriters together to foster the sale of screenplays and launch long-term successful careers.

Hundreds of writers’ groups, services and festivals have followed the Conference’s model over the past twenty years, reinforcing the value of its continuing mission to recognize the art of screenwriting.

The On Story project brings 23 years of content—thousands of hours of audio and video recordings of the greatest storytellers in film and television—to a national audience via PBS television and public radio broadcast and digital podcast with opportunities for brands to align with each exclusive story and wide demographic of listeners.

The series consists of a variety of entertaining and informative programs presented in different media platforms to give viewers an inside look at the creative process behind the nation’s most popular and critically acclaimed films and television shows.
