The Hattiesburg Concert Association (HCA) is a leading presenter and advocate of music, arts, and culture in the state of Mississippi. We present outstanding events that entertain, engage, educate, and enrich community members, students, and tourists of all ages, ethnicities, and socio-economic levels. Our projects and programs improve the quality of life for all residents of Hattiesburg and thousands of visitors to South Mississippi, effect positive social and economic development, and contribute to Mississippi’s creative economy.

The HCA has been developing Mississippi’s cultural economy for more than 19 years. Our programs create useful and meaningful opportunities for sponsors to reach their target markets, build customer loyalty, and achieve their objectives. WHAT WE DOFestivalSouth®, Mississippi’s only multi-week, multi-genre festival is one of “Mississippi’s Premier Arts Destinations.” This three-week festival features more than 50 events, including classical and popular musical performances, visual art exhibits, culinary events, Broadway style theatrical events, and educational institutes. These exciting and engaging events are presented at diverse venues throughout our city.

Through the Meistersingers Civic Chorus, HCA proudly presents some of the most creative, respected and well-attended professional quality cultural events in the area. This venerable community chorus enjoys strong community support and enhances lifelong learning through music for a wide range of participants and audiences.

HCA’s Artie Events are specifically designed to help educate and entertain our youngest cultural participants during FestivalSouth. These unique programs, which embody our educational institutes, plant the seeds of artistic growth for our future arts patrons, practitioners, and philanthropists.

In conjunction with FestivalSouth®, multiple Educational Institutes aimed to further develop and sustain Mississippi’s cultural economy through education and inspiration, reach over 5000 participants annually. Students study with masters of music, art, dance, and more, each institute concludes with a final performance during FestivalSouth.

FestivalSouth Film Expo (FSFX) is a four-day showcase of selected high quality, thought-provoking, and entertaining documentaries, shorts, and feature-length films. A special focus is placed on films from Mississippi. Presenting panel discussions and educational film-making classes, FSFX attracts film-makers and viewers from all over the world while demonstrating Mississippi’s progressive film scene.

HCA’s community initiatives include Community and Educational Outreach as we seek to place cultural opportunities, most free-of-charge, in locations throughout our community. Venues range from schools to senior centers and include programs for citizens with special needs. Through FestivalShares, we encourage our participants to give back their tame, talents and wealth to our community by creating opportunities for partnerships that are mutually beneficial.
