“Sponsored Summer Internship by Students in Various IITs”
Students were selected for Summer Internship Fellowship
Mousam, Saranya, Deepika (MSc_OC_Sem 2); Vihang (MSc_PC_Sem 2)
Mousam Patel: Being a part of SRIP-2018 at IIT Gandhinagar was a great
experience. I worked as a intern under the guidance of Dr Sriram Kanvah
Gundimeda whose research interest is “Synthesis of photosensitive π-
conjugated materials for a variety of optical and biological applications”.
My project topic was “Synthesis of photo responsive systems”. Not only I
utilized my summer holidays with great productivity, but also this internship
helped me to gain deeper knowledge. The facilities at IITGN are excellent –
with well-equipped as well as spacious labs, vast campus and serene
atmosphere. Also the Faculty, Research Scholars and other interns were
extremely helpful. If I talk about my experience inside lab, it’s been my first
ever research experience so it makes source of huge knowledge and
experience. So ultimately, this internship was a fruitful experience for me,
and I wish to do other such internships in future also.
I am very thankful to Paresh Sir and Sriram Sir for giving me such a great
opportunity. I am also thankful to my Research Scholar guide- Ms Beena
Singh who guided me round the clock during my entire internship. Thanks to
UTU and IITGN for this enriching experience.

Deepika Gatt: I had a wonderful time at IITGN. I worked as a intern under
the guidance of Dr Arnab Dutta whose research interest is developing
bioinspired H2 production electro catalyst. My project topic was
development of cobalt based efficient H2 production catalyst. I worked
there six weeks and in these six weeks I operated and seen many
sophisticated instruments like NMR, IR, CV etc. The faculty and PhD
student are also very helpful and supportive and the environment over
there was very friendly and positive. I would thanks to UTU and IITGN to
giving me such great opportunity.

Saranya Krishnan: I had worked under the guidance of Dr Arnab Dutta
whose research interest is developing optical brightener. My project topic
was Industrial- oriented 2- amino 4- tert butyl phenol from 4- tert butyl
phenol industrially on the basses of simple nitration and reduction
method by using greener solvents. I worked there for 8 weeks and that 8
weeks are amazing and where I had seen some instruments like NMR, IR,
UV etc. The facilities and the environment over there in IIT GN campus is
excellent. The students of PhD and the faculty of IIT GN was very helpful
during in this course of internship. And I more about to thank Dr Shreesha
Bhat who guided me along the duration of project. And this summer
internship for me is very much fruitful and I wish to do internship again in
the future.

of Dr Iyer, whose research interest is about the physical sciences. My
project topic was estimation of heavy metals in water from various zone
of Goa. I worked there for five weeks and in these five weeks I operated
and seen many sophisticated instruments like colorimeter, pH Meter, etc.
The work culture at IIT Goa is very friendly. The most imaging thing which
I have seen in campus is about no time boundary for the work. All the
