WELCOMING 5K & FUN RUN IN THE WORLD!
Since the 1980s, up to 2,500 refugees have been resettled annually in Clarkston, GA, a little city on the edge of Atlanta that TIME magazine called "the most diverse square mile in the country." From over 145 countries, survivors of war and famine arrive right here in Atlanta's backyard. And it is a struggle from day one to create a home here.
Refuge Coffee's goal is to provide a safe place to anchor Clarkston's refugee community. Because jobs are such a huge need, we started with a Refuge Coffee Truck to create our first refugee job and begin our job training program. Our dream was to build a Coffee Shop in the heart of Clarkston that reflects the true heart of our city, a veritable mash-up of Asian/African/Arabic/American cultures. Well, that’s already happened.
We purchased a second truck, so we served 6 days/week here at our space in the center of town. We not only train resettled refugees here, we’ve create a place of refuge for these unique cultures to tell their stories and share their lives.

Goal: Employ more people!
You support our primary mission to employ resettled refugees full-time, pay them a living wage, and offer them first-class job training and mentorship.
You fund an absolutely FREE One Mile Fun Run for the children in our refugee community and beyond.
You fund 5k scholarships for refugee runners in our community.
You help us host a lively community event where everybody runs WITH resettled refugees. We don’t do anything here FOR the refugee community; we do everything we do WITH the refugee community.
