UMW Day 2015 invites you to wear your favorite summer straw hat and prepare for a southern “Adventure.” Your day begins with some good ol’ fashioned southern fellowship on the Vaughn Chapel patio at 9:30 am as you sip your choice of juice or coffee and enjoy sumptuous pastries
You will then move inside to relax in the cool of the Chapel and enjoy some toe tapping bluegrass gospel as presented by the Java Brothers Bluegrass Band. The Java Brothers are from Radford, Virginia. They offer a variety of old and new styles patterned after some of their favorites: Bill Monroe, the Stanley Brothers,, Sam Bush, the Country Gentlemen, the Beatles, the Stones, and all the greats.
The fun continues over a southern ladies lunch and “The Mark Twain Show” as presented by Professor Emeritus Rex Stephenson, creator of the Jack Tale Players and the Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre. This show is a real treat as it depicts the life of Mark Twain, and is written and performed by Dr. Stephenson. So unpack your straw hat and get ready for the
“Adventure” at this year’s UMW Day Ferrum College
