WHY IS SPILL CONTROL NECESSARY?When spills occur, the person that caused the spill is responsible for prompt and proper clean-up. A proper spill control program in place enables a quick and effective response. You can find these guidelines in full in OSHA 3114 "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response." 29 CFR 1910.22(a)(2)Summary: Floors in your workplace should be "maintained in a clean and, so far as possible, a dry condition."

29 CFR 1910.107(b)(3)Summary: Combustible floors in a spray booth or work area "shall be covered with noncombustible material to facilitate the safe cleaning and removal of residues."
