Weekly Bulletin Issue 90. February 20 th 2014 Experience an RAF Ball! Through our close links with Simon Footer MBE at The RAF Benevolent Fund we’ve held Spice tables at their WW1 Centenary Ball, to be held amongst historic aircraft in the War Plane Hanger at RAF Cosford. We’ll enjoy a 5 course meal, celebrity speaker, Spitfire flypast, dancing to the Swing Band of the RAF, the Shawbury Military Wives Choir and more. Tickets are £70 but we pass this on to RAFBF who put the money to very good use. Click HERE Our Beautiful Forest of Solitary Trees! In our January Spice Newsletter I set us a challenge. This was in the form of a photo competition where we were all invited to submit a photo that matched the title “the Beauty of a Tree on its Own”. A theme that I likened to the different ways that the world is perceived by people with autism. Our response to this challenge has brought together a brilliant and eclectic gallery of some 74 trees so far. The interpretations have ranged from the highly creative to the positively zany! We close for entries on 1 st March and as each entry creates a £4 donation to the National Autistic Society, we have already raised nearly £300 for the charity. Do take a moment to view the gallery on our Facebook Page HERE and “like” your favourites. And why not take a last chance to submit a picture before the competition closes and the judging begins. You never know, you might even win a prize for your efforts and enjoy the opportunity to find solitary beauty within our bleak winter landscape!
