Industry challenges and opportunitiesFalling costs, environmental and political support, evolving technologies – it’s a business in boom and Renewables account for almost half of new electricity capacity installed. Where oil-fired generation is the main source of power (e.g. on islands, off-grid and in some countries) you can expect a lower-cost, renewable solution to exist alongside.
