New higher-powered X-ray apparatus Arina-4

The apparatus is intended for X-ray testing of different metal constructions, and for

the arterial oil pipeline and gas-main welded joints control in particular.

In contrast to the previous flash items "ARINA-1" - "ARINA-3", in "ARINA-4"

apparatus thermal emission tube is used. It is a continuous action apparatus with

constant voltage across tube anode. Radiation power of "ARINA-4" apparatus is

dozens of times greater than radiation power of the flash radiators mentioned above.

It enables to use "ARINA-4" for testing of 25 mm thick steel articles while x-raying

with a screenless film like STRUCTURIX D7.

Technical data

1. X-ray tube running voltage smoothly controllable from 100 to 160 kV.

2. Current quantity through an x-ray tube - 3 mA.

3. Focal spot size- 1x1 mm.

4. Exposure time smoothly controllable from 0,5 to 10 minutes.

5. Power supply- alternating current mains of 220 V 50 Hz.

6. X-radiator weight- 20 kg.

X-radiator dimensions- 540x200x200 mm.

Self-propelled flash nanosecond X-ray apparatus Sirena-5

• Absolute independence • Small weight and dimensions • Modular design • Reliability • Simplicity in maintenance • Absolute radiation safety • 24 V battery supply

I. Purpose Self-propelled flash x-ray apparatus SIRENA-5 is designed for testing of the welds of oil and gas pipelines by panoramic method of the x-ray photography. II. Advantages The main difference of the SIRENA-5 system from its Russian and foreign analogues is the absence of the isotope master-controller, which can be dangerous for the operator. All the commands to move inside the tube, to stop, or switch on x-rays are specified by the standard portable x-ray apparatus ARINA-1, positioned on the outside surface of the tube and controlled by the remote-control unit. In the SIRENA-5 unit the standard x-ray apparatus ARINA-05-2M is used as a panoramic radiator for x-raying of the circular welds. It is placed on the self-propelled carriage supplied with the dc engine 24 V and two accumulators with total rating of 20 A/hour. The electronic unit fixed on the special rod of the carriage receives the commands from the ARINA-1 apparatus and controls the carriage. The master-controller ARINA-1 and the main apparatus ARINA-05-2M can be used as a part of SIRENA-5 crawler, or independently, for x-raying of the tubes through two walls. In this case the carriage can be used as a power source for the ARINA-05-2M apparatus. ARINA-1 is energized from its own built-in accumulator.

Mini-crawler Sirena-6

• Absolute independence • Small weight and dimensions • Modular design • Reliability • Simplicity in maintenance • Absolute radiation safety • 12 V battery supply

I. Purpose Self-propelled x-ray apparatus (mini-crawler) SIRENA-6 is designed for testing of the welds of oil and gas pipelines by panoramic method of the x-ray photography. II. Advantages The main difference of the SIRENA-6 mini-crawler from its Russian and foreign analogues is the absence of the isotope master-controller, which can be dangerous for the operator. All the commands to move inside the tube, to stop, or switch on x-rays are specified by the standard portable x-ray radiator ARINA-1, positioned on the outside surface of the tube and controlled by the remote-control unit. In mini-crawler SIRENA-6 another pulse x-ray apparatus ARINA-1 is used as a panoramic radiator for x-raying of the circular welds. It is placed on the self-propelled carriage supplied with the dc engine and accumulator with total rating of 11 A/hour. The electronic unit, also fixed here, receives the commands from the ARINA-1 apparatus and controls the carriage. Both ARINA-1 apparatus (the master controller and the main apparatus) can be used as a part of mini-crawler, or independently, for x-raying of the tubes through the two walls. In this case the carriage can be used as a power source.
