Species of Mithbar – Humanoids

GnomesAlso Known As: Bookworms, EngineersAppearance: Take a Dwarf, shave him, make him lose

half his weight and you'll get a Gnome. There is always the bignose of course but Gnomes don't mind.

Architecture:

Arts & Entertainment:Calendar:Crime & Legal SystemDaily Life: Easy going and inquiring, Gnomes like to

know everything, that's why they like to work withmechanisms or magic. They like jokes, puzzles and mindgames more than any other race but have little love for battleand strength contests.

Diet & Eating Customs:Fashion & Dress: Slender and delicate, Gnomes like to

wear practical clothes and usually have many pockets full of stuff.

Foreign Relations: Gnomes are the spirit of every partyand usually they walk around in groups of five to ten, trying tofind a place to have a good time or on their way to the locallibrary. They like to hang around Ysta'are as they haveaccumulated great knowledge.

Favored Classes:Government: Although Gnomes usually follow the

hierarchy of the society they live in, as a Race they are ruledby a council of fifteen scientists and channelers. For a Gnometo enter the council tests of knowledge and intelligence mustbe taken.

Magic & TechnologyMedicine

Philosophy:Population: With an average lifespan of 250, Gnomes

go toe to toe with Dwarves, They age normally till they reach30, but then aging slows down and when they get old, their hair turns gray, and their looks go as old as 70. As they growolder, they get physically weaker.

HalflingsAlso Known As: Hole-buildersAppearance: Half the height of a man, twice the foot

size. Hairy foot, pointy ears and curly brown hair make thelittle people a joyful race. Usually chubby, with large browneyes and a smile slapped in their face, Halflings look like

Human children.Architecture: Perhaps the most easily recognized

dwelling, or one of the most easily concealed, the Halflinghole. These holes are actually more luxurious and spacey thatthey appear to be. When secrecy is not important, big rounddoors and windows as well as well kept gardens mark their entrance.

Arts & Entertainment:Calendar:Crime & Legal SystemDaily Life: Always polite and cheerful, Halflings love

the simple things in life. They love food, smoke and wine andare known for their ability to eat five meals per day and still behungry. Very stubborn they will push themselves to their limitsto get the job done.

Diet & Eating Customs:Fashion & Dress:Foreign Relations: Although they would appreciate it

if they were left alone, they are easy going and will have agood time when with Dwarves, Elves, or Humans. They try tostay away from troublemakers, using their unique ability tomove unnoticed.

Favored Classes:Government: Halflings have a sophisticated hierarchy.

Each village or town is ruled by a Mayor and a council, usually

composed of old Halflings. men and women alike are able togain a rank and even age can be overlooked if skill is enough.

Magic & TechnologyMedicinePhilosophy: Halflings enjoy good life and clean cut

situations, so its no surprise their orders of choice are Order or Life aligned ones. Nature orders are second in preference andMight, or even worse, Chaos aligned orders rarely if ever see aHalfling join them.

Population: Rather long lived for Humanoids,Halflings can reach the age of 150. They reach adulthood at 33and they age just like Humans till they reach the age of 70,then aging slows down and goes at a halved speed. Evenduring the last decade of their lives, they are quite capable of performing most tasks, especially those related to food.

Species of Mithbar – Humanoids

N'nauthAlso Known As: WatchmenAppearance: Slender, with cyan skin and long fingers,

these alleged descendants of the original Watchers, look almost alien. They have big black eyes with no pupils andrelatively big heads.

Architecture:Arts & Entertainment:Calendar:Crime & Legal SystemDaily Life: Aloof mysterious and eerie, N'nauth never

reveal much. They are silent and when needed, theycommunicate with their thought. Not really friendly or hostile, the N'nauth are neutral. They never lose their temper and never forget what they see.

Diet & Eating Customs:Fashion & Dress: Most still dressed in robes like the

ones worn by the Watchers.Foreign Relations: They like to stay away from the

other races, in secluded cities. Occasionally they acceptvisitors who seek their wisdom but most of the time they valuetheir privacy. Not the privacy of others though since theymanage to keep an eye on everyone.

Favored Classes:Government: The N'nauth have no Hierarchy except

maybe the memory of their ancestors, in which case their onlyallegiance is to Archon and perhaps the Keepers andGuardians. When in a society its never long enough for them tobe absorbed, let alone aim for a seat of power.

Magic & TechnologyMedicine

Philosophy:Population: Immortal, ageless and unable to procreate,

the N'nauth are a race doomed to stagnation. Since they can bekilled, their race will eventually become extinct as thecenturies pass. As they get older, they gain a sixth senseallowing them to see glimpses of the future.

NecashAlso Known As: Grey MenAppearance: Necash are slim, usually tall, with smoky

gray skin, gray eyes with no pupils, and white hair. They oftengrow long, claw-like nails. What is most disturbing about themis not their looks, though, but the dreaded ability to pass

through almost any physical barrier.Architecture:Arts & Entertainment:Calendar:Crime & Legal SystemDaily Life: Silent. Sly. Deadly. Necash are not ones

you want to face unprepared, and you are never prepared toface them. You can never anger them, they will kill you longbefore that. Even among themselves they are suspicious andwithdrawn, after all nobody who wants to live trusts a master backstabber, not even another master backstabber.

Diet & Eating Customs:Fashion & Dress: Usually wearing comfortable, and,

predictably, gray clothes, that allow free movement.Foreign Relations: Necash are not very social. Loners

by nature, when you see two together, chances are they areeither master and apprentice, or mates. And with other racesthey interact only on business terms. Spies and assassins, others come to them when they need them, and fear and avoidthem all other times. And Necash would have it no other way

Favored Classes:Government: Necash respect nobody but the ones that

hire them, and even that is subject to change sometimes. Still, they won't openly oppose the Keeper and the Guardian, asnobody survives 500 years by being foolish. The only

hierarchy they have is the master-apprentice relationship, where, till released, the apprentice is but a property of hismaster.

Magic & TechnologyMedicinePhilosophy:Population: Living up to 500 years, Necash are lucky

to be a long-lived race. For the job of the spy and the assassinis not an easy one, and they spend their first 100 years inapprenticeship, one that the not worthy survive not. Once theypass the age of 400, they usually withdraw from the world, anduse the rest of their lives to find a mate, and settle down.

ShikintarsAlso Known As: Desert StewardsAppearance: With rock like skin and razor sharp claws,

the stewards of the desert are a fearsome lot. Dark unforgivingeyes and teeth ready to tear flesh apart make them unnerving tomost. Although Shikintars can stand as bipeds, they appear

more animal-like than Humanoid.Architecture:Arts & Entertainment:Calendar:Crime & Legal SystemDaily Life: Silent and deadly, the Shikintars will attack

fast and mercilessly. With no sense of humor, but a strongsense of honor, the Shikintars are very serious. Every now andthen they send long high pitched cries, to ensure their supremacy on the mountains.

Diet & Eating Customs:Fashion & Dress:Foreign Relations: Being very territorial, the Shikintars

will attack all intruders, unless they are Eruhim, since theyhave a pact with them. They nourish a deep hatred for theGargoyles, for reasons unknown and will exit their regionwhile in pursuit of one.

Favored Classes:Government: Little is knows about the inner structure

of this sub-race. If there is any form of hierarchy its certainlynot something they share with others. If their behavior whenwith others is any indication however, age seems to be rather important in relationships within the sub-race.

Magic & TechnologyMedicine

Philosophy:Population: It is not clear how long they live, but only

size is a visible difference between children and adult membersof the race. The tribesmen say that as the Shikintars growolder, they become even more vicious and short tempered.Speculations place their lifespan between 100 and 300 years, but thats just speculation.
