Festivals are for FUN!

The wines in the 2016 Restricted Quantities program – A Festival of Festivals – are inspired by local celebrations that take place in four of the world’s most famous wine regions. It is our hope that by making and enjoying these wines, we will inspire you to create your own festivities.

Wine is for Celebrating!

Festivals are created by blending together local culture, tradition, food, wine and of course, happy, joyful people. By blending some of the finest grape varieties found in each wine region, each variety contributing its own character to the wine, we think we have crafted four unique and distinct wines worthy of your own celebrations. The program highlights four festivals that take place in the regions where each of our RQ wine grapes are grown – La Batalla in Spain, Carrusel in Argentina, Carnevale in Italy, and Tjungu in Australia.

Masks Symbolize Celebration and Culture

We choose to portray each festival with illustrations of masks symbolizing the celebrations that take place in each region, and the wine they represent. The masks are displayed prominently on the bottle labels and packaging to create an even stronger connection between the wine and the regional celebration.Whether it’s a celebration of Indigenous culture (Tjungu from Australia), the grape harvest (Carrusel from Argentina), a wine fight (La Batalla from Spain), or a masquerade (Carnevale from Italy), each mask incorporates traditional elements to represent its region.

Blending Grapes for Interesting Wine!

Regional festivals are distinct because they represent their own local culture, traditions, tastes and styles. When wines are made by blending local grapes they capture a similar sense of place, reflecting the region in which they are grown.

Winemakers around the world are innovating with wine blending techniques –creating more exciting blends from grapes that are not traditionally combined. Each grape, with its unique personality, blending together for new and enticing flavor and aroma profiles!

Our winemaker, Rachel Kvas, has used her training and expertise to blend the best varietals from each region. The result is she has created wines that are even better than the sum of their individual varietals!
