Job Description

Context: At Citizens Advice Plymouth, the training and development of our people is at the heart of everything we do to ensure we are providing our clients with the highest quality of service. We require a trainer to assist with the delivery of planned sessions across the whole organisation, from administration and telephone client contact through to specialist workers and leadership.

We are also looking to grow our external training offering across the city and therefore you will also be required to train externally.Role Purpose: You will be at the forefront of training and development activities across the whole organisation by delivering internal and external training sessions and workshops to ensure that all training is interactive, engaging and inclusive.

You will need to have an enthusiastic, open and creative approach to learning and cater to all development needs of all employees and the wider delegates that enter your training sessions.

The trainer will work as part of the training department and report into the Learning and Development Manager.

The post holder will assist with the developing and maintaining of the organisational training plan, ensuring that all training activities are in line with organisations needs that feed directly into the annual business plan.

You will drive quality and consistency through the delivery of training, coaching and mentoring and as guided by the Learning and Development Manager.

Key Areas of Work:Below is a list of the key areas of work the post-holder will be expected to perform and examples of what tasks are involved in those areas. The list of tasks is not exhaustive.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery of Training and Development ActivitiesPlan and deliver internal and external training sessions, workshops and seminars. Create all internal interactive and inclusive training sessions and materials. Collaborate with the Learning and Development Manager to explore

innovative concepts for the future of training. Identify and address trends that may arise out of training needs across the

organisation. One to one mentoring or coaching of staff and volunteers where required. Completion of training induction for new starters of staff and volunteers. Work closely with Managers to develop / mentor staff to their full potential. Obtain regular feedback to ensure training has been implemented

effectively and tweak and refresh based on feedback or self-assessment. Deliver training through a range of channel including classroom based and

virtual (Zoom & Office 365 Teams)

Training Based Administration Produce accessible training plans for all roles. Responsible for updating and maintaining the organisational training plan. Ensure all training activities are recorded and in line with organisational

needs, thus maximising efficiency and effectiveness. Working with the External Affairs Department to ensure training materials

are branded effectively. Keep up to date with national and local changes that may require internal /

external training.

Development and Promotion of Training Offer Promotion of high quality training across the organisation with focus on key

training principles such as the Teaching, Learning and Assessment Cycle and inclusive learning.

Promote the quality and consistency across the organisation through training activities and opportunities.
