One of our most popular tours, this walking tour of the public lobbies describes the interior of the hotel… its décor and its development� The Greenbrier opened in 1913; served as an Army Hospital during WWII; was redecorated by Dorothy Draper in the late 1940’s� Today, it continues to be a leading historic hotel in America�

Alex Brand shares his glass blowing skills which have been nurtured since his graduation mid 1970’s from the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia� Though his degree� is in jewelry making, he found his passion in glass blowing during a short training course� Having won many art awards, Alex recently was awarded 1st place BEST OF WEST VIRGINIA for all mediums in a show sponsored by the State of West Virginia� He is also an adjunct instructor at the Corning Museum of Glass in New York� Alex and his wife Susan, jewelry maker, opened Virtu Gallery at The Greenbrier in 2010; Alex started his glass blowing demonstrations in 2013� This demonstration is held in the Virtu Glass Blowing Studio located near The Alabama Row Art Colony�
