Use inspiration boards to find your wedding style or theme . . .When using the web as your inspiration starting point,

you're running the risk of complete style overload. It’s nearly

impossible to describe what photography style ts you, what

the perfect place setting looks like, and what is the exact shade

of green for your bridesmaid dresses.

That is exactly where the inspiration board comes in handy.

These digital collages will help you hone in on the look and

style you want. It is one of the best ways to get your wedding

colours and style ideas out of your head and to paper, allowing

you to edit your many loves and come up with a day that

re ects who you truly are.

Get started on your own board or browse thousands of others

by visiting one of the following websites:

PINTEREST.COMA content sharing service that allows members to "pin" images,

videos and other objects to their pinboard.

WEDDINGWIRE.COMUpload your own photos, use images that you’ve collected from

your binder, or browse the photo gallery from the inspiration

board creator.

THEKNOT.COMKeeping it super simple, theknot.com allows you to choose

a template, add your images, then save and share your

 nished board.

STYLEMEPRETTY.COMUse their “Build a Board” tool kit, browse their look books

and explore their galleries of brilliant colour palettes.

THE THINGS

THREE LEAF WEDDINGS

4 simple ways to make your wedding day uniquely you...What is it about things like favours,

owers, cakes and place settings that

are so awesome? You may not have an

answer, but it might have something to

do with wanting to be thoughtful.

Little details are a great way to

personalize your wedding and make it

truly unique. You may feel that you’ve

thought of everything. But by adding

simple, special details, the day will ow

more peacefully, your guests will feel

more welcome and relaxed, and you’ll

know that you haven’t forgotten a thing.

CREATE A THEMEFocus on your wants, desires, combined personalities and hobbies. Do you share a

love for the outdoors? Use that as a starting point and let the ideas ow ...

THINK MULTI-FUNCTIONALFresh and inexpensive, lush oral centerpiece blooms double as favours when you

provide guests with waterproof bags to take owers home in. Using an idea like this

is thoughtful ... and especially pleasing to those who love freebies!

SAY NO TO CAKEBored of cake? Your choice of dessert is an opportunity to add another unique

touch to the wedding. Try a pie buffet, family recipes, cake-pops, a varied dessert

buffet, cupcakes or a chocolate fondue.

PLAY TO THE SEASONGettin’ hitched in the summer? Use warm-weather favourites like fresh squeezed

lemonade, ice cream sandwiches, ip- op wedding favours or homemade programs

that double as fans to give your guests a little nostalgia.

There's no getting around the fact that weddings can be expensive.

It's quite easy for individuals to go over budget on their wedding day

if they do not carefully keep track of what has been spent on all the

elements of the big day. Use this budget planner to keep all of the

costs associated with the wedding in one easy-to-manage place.

egistrOUTSIDE THE BOXegistregistregistregistrJust like many aspects of weddings

have changed over the years, so too has

gifting the bride and groom. In years

past, guests simply chose a gift from

the couple’s registry and that was that.

However, today’s couples often have

little use for traditional registries, a by-

product of more and more couples living

together before they get married.

“We’re in our thirties and both had

complete households when we moved

in together,” said newlyweds Mindee

and Graham, who chose to forgo a

traditional registry.

Here are some unique wedding registry ideas:

HONEYMOONWedding guests can conveniently choose

from a host of activities listed by the

newlyweds, including dinners, local

tourist attractions and even airline or

train tickets. In so doing, guests can

ensure newlyweds have the honeymoon

of their dreams, all the while not

worrying about nances or bills when

they return home.

OUTDOOR STORESYou may have all the linens, dishes and

toasters you need but there is always

room for a new pair of skis, backpacks

and camping equipment.

RENOVATION OR DOWN-PAYMENTIf you are thinking about purchasing

your rst home or doing renovations

after the wedding, why not approach

your local bank and set-up a special

account for your guests to contribute to?

While a bride’s gown, hairstyle and other

accoutrements are the rst things others

see when she walks down the aisle, it’s

what she wears on her feet that may

make the most impact on her day.

That’s because a comfortable bride is

often a happy bride. And as anyone

who has squeezed into too-tight shoes

knows, one’s mood can certainly turn

sour if feet are covered with blisters.

While many brides are quick to pick the

most beautiful shoes for their wedding

day, perhaps they should consider

comfort over aesthetics.

DECIDE ON A STYLEShoes come in many styles that can

complement a wedding day look.

CLOSED TOE: These create an unbroken

line from the gown to the oor.

PEEP TOE: This style is often considered

sexy and sweet.

OPEN TOE: These sandal-like shoes are

best worn in warm weather.

SLINGBACK: These shoes provide a little

bit of drama. Make sure they t well

otherwise the heel strap may slide down

and become a nuisance.

HEEL HEIGHTMany brides want to be the belle of the

ball, and to them high heels seem to

be the way to achieve this. However,

choosing a lower heel or a at may be a

smart move where comfort is involved.

A word of advice is to choose the lowest

heel possible, which helps avoid snags

on a gown or unsteady traversing

down the aisle or up and down church

steps. Lower heels are also much more

comfortable for dancing.

BREAKING IN SHOESIt is recommended to choose shoes prior

to a last tting so that the gown length

can be adjusted depending upon the

height of the heel. Purchasing shoes

early also gives brides a chance to break

them in. Wearing the shoes around the

house and scuf ng up the soles not

only makes them more comfortable

and less slip-worthy, it gives brides

practice walking in them. Additionally

if breaking in the shoes isn’t successful,

a new pair of shoes can be purchased.

Remember, feet tend to swell as the day

goes on, so brides may want to choose a

half-size larger shoe for comfort later on.

BAIT AND SWITCHSome brides prefer to sweat out the

ceremony and photos in one pair of less

comfortable shoes and then switch into a

pair of satin slippers or even sneakers for

the remainder of the celebration. When

favours or owers are dropped off at the

reception, a friend can tuck these switch-

out shoes under the bride’s seat so that

she can change into them later on.

THREE LEAFPHOTOGRAPHY

DO I NEED A CONSULTATION?Absolutely! It is your wedding day, why would you want it to

be anything less than perfect? Make sure you go well prepared.

Take pictures, ideas, accessories, anything to help you and your

stylist come up with the perfect style. Also, don’t be afraid to

speak up, that's what trials are for!

VEIL OR NO VEIL?These days many brides lean towards no veil because they feel it

will become a hassle on the wedding day. Before you make your

decision, ask yourself, when will you ever get the opportunity to

wear one again? With all the different hair accessories out there,

why not get the best of both worlds? You could choose to wear

a veil for the ceremony and for the reception replace it with a

 ower, headband or fascinator.

WILL I BE LIMITED BY MY HAIR TYPE?Just because you have tight spiral curls or bone-straight hair

doesn’t mean you are committed to any speci c look. With a

professional hairstylist your ideal wedding hair is possible.

DON'T FORGET THE GROOM!Keep in mind, it is his day too! Although he may not want to

spend as much time as you do on your hair, a fresh haircut and

eyebrow trim about a week before the big day is ideal.

While wedding dresses have veered towards classic elegance,

headpieces are anything but. Instead, extreme lengths and

exaggerated embellishments are making a comeback.

If you've decided to rock a headpiece or veil, you may

become overwhelmed by the endless possibilities.

Below are a few tips to help point you in the

right direction:

• What is the style of your dress and how much

of it do you want to show off?

• What type of wedding are you having? This will

help you decide which style will work best.

• Consider your height — the last thing you need

is to be overwhelmed with layers of tulle!

Brides nding everyday inspiration for their wedding owers.

2013 IS AN EXCITING TIME IN THE WEDDING INDUSTRY; especially for local brides-to-be. One of this year's hot new trends isn't so 'new'. We are seeing amazing wedding arrangements that are inspired by vintage and antique designs. Stunning owers in these arrangements are Garden Roses, Hydrangea's and Peonies which may include pearls, brooches or lace. We have slowly seen a shift in fashion & accessories that is dating back to the romantic 1920s era and brides are absolutely adoring the fresh arrangements with an old 1920s vintage twist.

Brides are also going to love the option they have of getting back to BC's nature, which they can

achieve by introducing organic natural elements to their wedding owers. Gorgeous designs that I think we will be seeing a lot of include the use of white Birchwood, which is stripped and dried creating a natural look. The bark from the Birchwood looks lovely wrapped around owers or used as a vase for centerpieces. Other natural elements used in design include feathers, berries and local greens.

Little Mountain Garden Centre & Florist, located in Chilliwack, BC offers free wedding ower consultations. Please call 604-792-7888 to book your appointment with our Floral design team. Our customized approach will make your day special and create wedding orals that will bring a tear to your eye!

Go to your rst meeting with a realistic

budget for your owers. And when the

 orist asks the inevitable question:

"Have you decided on your budget?"

Give an actual dollar amount, with a

little room for the unexpected. The

orist needs to know what they have to

work with.

For instance, if your favorite owers are

higher end — think calla lillies, peonies,

roses, bird of paradise — and your

budget is lower end, the orist will guide

you to affordable alternatives, while

perhaps including a small amount of

your favourite owers.

Finally, keep in mind that some owers

may be out of season, making them

dif cult to nd and more costly options.

You should not expect to receive your

quote that day, as the orist may need

to get quotes from the wholesale level.

They should e-mail you the information

within a few days, with a description of

each of the components, so you can have

a visual idea of what you will be getting.

Now it is your turn to ask your orist

questions. Be sure to ask about these

important issues:

•  Do you deliver to the venue, and what

is the cost for that service?

• Do you have any testimonials?

• Will each item be labelled, to avoid any

mix-ups prior to the ceremony?

• Can we add onto our order, if

neccessary?

• How much will the deposit be and

when is it due?

• When is the fi nal payment due?

• What is your cancellation policy?

When planned properly, they will

enhance your gown, play an important

role in the photos and set the look and

feel of your wedding.

estinatioWEDDINGS

Because travel is involved,

destination weddings are

often facilitated with the help

of a travel agent or wedding

planner. They can help work

out the details of the wedding,

primarily when you’re working

with vendors that may be out of

the country. Keep in mind that

if you have your heart set on all

of your friends and family being

able to attend your wedding,

destination weddings may not

be the way to go.

Couples looking to add

excitement to their wedding

without much fuss can turn

to destination weddings when

tying the knot.

LIQUA PHOTOGRAPHY

Destination weddings can

actually be less expensive

than traditional celebrations

closer to home. That’s because

destination weddings generally

have smaller guest lists, and

many of the ‘extras’ that are

tacked on to a traditional

wedding are covered in the all-

inclusive price of a destination

event. So you can cut down

on the cost signi cantly,

particularly if guests are paying

for their own tickets.

Destination weddings are for

individuals who want to put

the focus on fun. They enable

you to pump-up the enjoyment

factor and combine a vacation

and a wedding into one.

wrdCEREMONY GUIDELINESCheck with your of ciant to see if

personalized wedding vows are allowed.

DECIDE ON A TONE Although the day is based on romance,

feel free to tap into your personality.

Humour can be used if it aligns with the

way you express your affections.

SHORT AND SWEETMake sure your vows will be concise. Aim

for the entire speech to be approximately

1 minute in length to keep everyone

engaged and the ceremony moving along.

TIME FOR WRITINGAmid the bustle of dress ttings and

interviews with caterers, it can be easy

to put off the important task of writing

vows for another day. Schedule an

appointment with yourself and be sure to

give the task your undivided attention.

JOT DOWN YOUR FEELINGS Think from your heart and personal

experiences. What is the most important

thing you want to promise to your future

partner? These notes can serve as the

starting points for your vows.

INYOUR OWNHere are some guidelines for personalizing your ceremony with your own sentiments.

Established in 2012 after seeing the growing trend of photo booth rentals, The Giggle Pod owner/operator Greg Gannon’s goal was to have the best booth in town offering more bang for your buck than anyone else. After researching all the options available, Greg had the state

of the art Giggle Pod built by one of North America’s premier booth builders in Atlanta, Georgia. Some of the things that set The Giggle Pod apart from the competition other than price, are their included custom graphic design layout for every event, instant photo strip emailing, green screen,

the booth can accommodate up to 15 people (yes your whole wedding party!) at once and they will travel from Hope to Whistler at no extra cost. The Giggle Pod can even be set up without an enclosure as a stand alone unit if space is an issue or to take advantage of any backdrop, from a view

to a nice feature wall. On the day of your event, Greg, or one of his professional attendants will be there to make sure everyone is having fun taking home memories in the form of photo strips of your special day. Book Giggle Pod for your next event! www.thegigglepod.com

SPECIALucesucesucesucesucesMany want to add special

touches to the wedding that

will show guests how much

they are appreciated and to

make their celebration stand

out. Here are some

ways to do just that.

BUTLER-PASSED HORS D'OEUVRES: During the cocktail hour

guests are mingling and taking

advantage of the opportunity

to engage in conversation.

This may be the last real

opportunity to chat amongst

one another before the

volume of the band or deejay

drowns out conversations.

Rather than disrupt the ow

of conversation to make a trip

to the food stations, choose

butler-passed hors d'oeuvres

to bring food right to the

guests.

BIRTHDAYS & ANNIVERSARIES:

Notify the band or deejay of

any guests in attendance who

may be celebrating their own

special events on your wedding

day or in close proximity.

VALET PARKING: Consider hiring a valet

company to do guest parking.

Being able to exit the car

right in front of the venue

and not worry about nding

a parking space will be

convenient for guests.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Offer guests a place to stay

nearby to remove the hassle

of driving home at a late hour.

Try to negotiate a discounted

rate for wedding guests at a

nearby hotel.

TOILETRY BASKETS: Purchasing items that can

be grouped into a handy

basket for the restrooms

is always a nice touch. For

women, include items such as

hairspray, sanitary items, spray

deodorant, and sewing kits.

For men, mints or mouthwash,

dental oss, cologne, and stain

removal pens.

There are many extra

touches you can take as a

couple to make guests feel

welcomed and important

at your wedding.
