TEA has posted a new document to the Parent Resources section of the TEA Special Education COVID-19 Resources page.
The purpose of this document is to assist parents in preparing to participate in decision making regarding compensatory services for children served by special education impacted by COVID-19.Compensatory Services and COVID-19 (English)

Transition Services During COVID 19All secondary transition services/activities (34 CFR §300.43) must continue to be monitored through progress reports aligned to a student’s IEP goals.LEAs should make reasonable efforts to provide individualized transition support for students with disabilities beginning at age 14 through age 21 in an at-home learning environment.
Guiding Questions for Secondary Transition ConsiderationsStep 1: Review the student's IEP, including annual IEP goals and postsecondary goals and services/activities that support transition.Step 2: Update the Transition Plan and the supports that will be provided virtually for secondary transition.Step 3: Implement the Transition Plan.Step 4: Monitor student progress and adjust as necessary.

● The application for Round 2 of the Evaluation Certification Program thru TEA’s Small and Rural Schools Network is now open and closes June 19th.
● Eligible participants can receive up to $10,000 of reimbursement for
fees associated with programs to become a Diagnostician or a LSSP.● Coursework must have been completed Fall 2019, Spring 2020, and/or
Summer 2020 to be eligible.
