CONTINUINGMISSIONARYEDUCATIONOPPORTUNITY

PlanshavebeensetinmotiontodevelopaContinuingMissionaryEducationprogramdesignedtoeducateandequippeoplefor excellence in globalmissionsministry. This program targets those on the AIM programwhowould like to pursueassociate missionary appointment, those in the associate missionary program that would like to pursue intermediateappointment,andintermediatemissionariesthatwouldliketopursuecareerappointment.

TheContinuingMissionaryEducationprogramencouragespotentialandactivemissionarypersonneltobeeducatedandenhancedintheircalling.Weseektoeducate,equip,empower,andencourageinnovationinreachingourglobewiththewholeGospelwhileallowingappointedpersonneltoremaincommittedtotheirmissioncontext.

TheCertificatesinGlobalMissionswillbeawardedtothosecompletingcourseswhileunderappointmentandinserviceinglobalmissions.

CoursestakenthroughGlobalMissionswouldbedevelopedatastandardwherewewouldbeabletoseekanarticulationagreementwithcollegesinNorthAmerica.

OurPaths:

ThefollowingcoursesaredesignedinpartnershipbetweenGlobalMissions,theGlobalAssociationofTheologicalStudies,andtheGlobalEducationCommittee,andareaccessiblefromanylocation,eventhosewithlimitedinternetconnectivity.Coursesmarked“BookAvailable”indicatesthecoursewillbeavailableonJanuary1,2018.

OurProcedure:

Ourinitial/immediateapproachwillbetomakecourses/booksavailableasrequiredreadingwiththeopportunitytoanswerstudyquestions.

Thiswouldbefollowedby,ordevelopedinto,audioorvideoinstructionthatgoalongwiththetextbooks.InstructorswouldbeselectedfromalistofqualifiedpersonnelwithinGlobalMissionsandourexpandedmissionarycommunity.

OurRequirements:

1. ThecompletionoftwocoursesorreadingoftextbookspriortoAssociateMissionaryappointment.2. ThecompletionoffourcoursesorreadingoftextbookspriortoIntermediateMissionaryappointment.(This

wouldincludethetwocoursestakenatthepreviouslevel.)3. ThecompletionofsixcoursesorreadingoftextbookspriortoCareerMissionaryappointment.(Thisincludes

thefourcoursestakenatthepreviouslevels.)

*ThismeansthoseatCareerMissionaryappointmentstatuswouldnotberequiredtoparticipateintheContinuingMissionsEducationprogramdescribedhere.(Wewouldcertainlybeopentothosedesiringtodoso).

*ThosealreadyattheAssociateMissionarylevelwouldonlyneedtotaketwocoursespriortoIntermediateappointment.

*ThosealreadyattheIntermediateMissionarylevelwouldonlyneedtotaketwocoursespriortoCareerappointment.

*Forcouples,ourpreferencewouldbethatboththehusbandandwifecompletetherequirements.

AcertificatecouldbegivenforeachcoursewithaCertificateinGlobalMissionsprovidedforthecompletionofsixcourses.

Asimplemethodofevaluationwouldbeusedforeachofthecourses.Currently,theonlychargetoourmissionarypersonnelwouldbethecostofthebooksinvolved.ThiscancomefromthePIMaccountiffundsareavailable.

InJanuaryof2018,wewillbeginprovidingAIMTraining!ThistrainingwillbeprovidedforthosewhoarestronglyinterestedinAIM,areintheAIMapplicationprocess,areapprovedAIMers,orthosereturningfromAIMandplanningtogoagain.

ArrivalandthefirstsessionwillbeheldonThursdaynight,January4th.TrainingwilltakeplacethroughoutthedayandnightonJanuary5th,andthenSaturdayuntil3PM.ItwillbehostedinWeldonSpring(St.Louisarea),Missouri.
