invitation to attend.

the Royal australian and new Zealand College of Psychiatrists invites you to attend the RanZCP 2017 Congress, to be held in adelaide from 30 april– 4 may 2017 at the adelaide Convention Centre.

The theme ‘Speaking our Minds. Telling our Stories’ will set the scene for a broad and interesting scientific program discussing the latest developments in psychiatry. An outstanding array of local and international keynote speakers and a wide range of parallel sessions and pre-Congress workshops will deliver an extensive and thought provoking scientific program.

The scientific program will cover sessions from all areas of psychiatry and will include clinical update sessions on specific topics and entertaining debates.

The program will also allow delegates the opportunity to participate in additional activities outside of the main program including early morning walks, evening wine tastings and the RANZCP inaugural golf days to be held at the Grange Golf Complex and the Royal Adelaide Golf Course.

Congress provides an ideal forum to re-connect with colleagues and make new contacts. The Organising Committee is enthusiastically organising a meeting that aims to encourage professional engagement and connection and foster networking with peers.

On behalf of the Congress Organising Committee, I look forward to welcoming you to Adelaide for a memorable event.

Congress city and venue.

Adelaide is dynamic and inspiring, cultured and warm, stylish, yet casual; artistic, but very down-to-earth. It’s large enough to be cosmopolitan yet compact enough to avoid big-city congestion, inconvenience – and cost. Renowned across Australia as being the festival city, Adelaide’s appreciation of the arts goes hand in hand with a penchant for good food and fine wine.

Situated between the beautiful Adelaide Hills and the long white beaches of the Gulf of St. Vincent, Adelaide is a picturesque city with a population of approximately 1.2 million. With the city being settled in 1836, the city still retains much of its simple peace and tranquillity, with the convenience and energy of a modern city.

The Congress will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, located on North Terrace, the gracious cultural and educational boulevard steeped in architectural history, and surrounded by a range of hotels as well as restaurants, theatres, the casino, shops and gardens. The Adelaide Convention Centre enjoys a global reputation for excellence and is consistently ranked among the world’s top convention centres.
