Collaboration, an international research charity foundation. Dr. Cerritelli has broad interests in osteopathic research, neuroscience and health science focusing on interdisciplinary aspects of evidence based medicine. Andrea Manzotti, DO Andrea is head of the pediatric osteopathy clinic at the Vimercate hospital which opened the practice in 2004 until 2010 and is still managed by a team of osteopaths. From 2010 to 2012, Andrea was in charge of the first project in osteopathy and neonatology "the treatment of premature babies from the 25th to the 35th week of gestational age" with Dr. Agosti of the Dal Ponte di Varese hospital. From 2013 the clinical research on the efficacy of osteopathic treatment in TIN starts thanks to the curiosity and the availability of Dott List, Director SC Neonatology and Neonatal Intensive Care (TIN) "V. Buzzi" Children's Hospital ASST-FBF-Sacco Lecturer at the two-year first level Master in "Osteopathic Medicine" at the University of Ferrara. His interest in research and interdisciplinarity in the field of neonatology concerns him in collaborating with numerous hospitals (Mangiagalli Milan, San Matteo Pavia, Policlinico Modena) where clinical and scientific projects of national and international relevance are born. Founder of the SOMA osteopathy school and head of the biennial course in pediatric osteopathy. Director of the RAISE project (in collaboration with the COME foundation) which has the primary objective of including osteopathic treatment in Italian neonatology and coordination in 20 hospitals involved in the project through a capillary multidisciplinary activity between osteopaths, physicians, physiotherapists and nurses.

Dawn Carnes, PhD

University College of Osteopathy, Queen Mary University of London, University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland Dawn Carnes has a background in occupational psychology, osteopathy and is currently a full time health researcher. Her main area of interest is persistent pain, musculoskeletal health and manual therapies. More recently her research skills have been used to conduct systematic reviews on safety of manual therapies, the effectiveness of manual therapies for infant health and currently a randomised controlled trial assessing the effectiveness of osteopathic care for infants with colic.

Filip Cools, MD

Filip Cools studied medicine and trained in pediatrics at the Catholic University of Leuven. He subspecialised in neonatology at the Academic Medical Centre/Emma Children’s Hospital, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and got his PhD at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 2009, with “Prevention of Ventilator Induced Lung Injury in Preterm Infants with Respiratory Distress Syndrome: PreVILIG”. Filip works as a neonatologist at the Neonatal Unit of the UZ Brussel - Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and is clinical Director of the Neonatal Unit of the UZ Brussel - Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Brussels, Belgium. His is professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Evidence-Based Medicine); Staff member of the Belgian Centre for evidence-Based Medicine (CEBAM) and of the Belgian Branch of the Dutch Cochrane Centre. His current research projects is : “End-of-life decisions in neonates and infants: a population based study in Flanders, Belgium Multicenter prospective study in Flanders. Trial coordinator Luc Deliens (VUB, UGent), Co-investigator and member of the NIC-consortium. Yvan Vandenplas, PhD, MD

Yvan Vandenplas studied medicine and trained in pediatrics (1981-1986) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He became Head of the Unit for Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition in 1987, and is Head of the KidZ Health Castle at the University Hospital Brussels (UZ Brussel) and the Chair of Pediatrics since 1994. Yvan’s main interests are gastro-esophageal reflux (diagnostic procedures, treatment), eosinophilic esophagitis, infant nutrition, probiotics and prebiotics, cow’s milk protein allergy, functional gastrointestinal disorders and Helicobacter pylori. He has published many original research and review papers on topics such as infant nutrition, gastro-esophageal reflux and functional gastrointestinal disorders. He is now one of the associate editors of the Journal of Paediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. He is also the chair of the ESPGHAN Special Interest Group on "Gut Microbiota & Modifications". Yvan has more than 450 publications listed in Medline, and over 1000 oral presentations at different international meetings.

Samantha Fennell, DO

A former graduate of the UCO, Samantha now heads up the Postgraduate Certificate in Specialist Paediatric Osteopathic Practice using innovation, evidence based and patient centred approaches to meet the needs of the varied patients that are seen within the paediatric clinic. Samantha has been a member of UCO faculty for over ten years teaching in the clinic whilst continuing to deliver developmental biology, obstetrics and paediatric theory and technique to undergraduate, post-graduate and short professional courses at the university. Her specialist area is paediatrics and she continues to lecture in this subject both in the UK and Europe, delivering an evidence-based hands on approach to students. She is an enthusiastic senior member of staff who when not at the university works in her busy private clinic.

Els Juliette Hellebaut, DO

Els Juliette Hellebaut, DO, is the founder of the Paramedisch Centrum Deurle. In this center a paramedical team of Physical therapists, osteopaths, remedial education specialists and midwives focus on a collaborative approach with the patient as focal point with special emphasis on infants and children. Diploma of graduate Physioitherapy graduated with a DO diploma in Osteopathy. Postgraduate courses by Dr V. M. Frymann at the Ecole Supérieure d’Ostéopathie (ESO) in Paris and at the Osteopathic Center for Children, 54th Place in San Diego. Working in the practice of Dr Frymann in the OCC in San Diego and of Dr C. Valenti gave her specific experience in Osteopathy in the Pedriatic Field and in Behavioral Optometry.

Marie-Caroline Willieme, DO

Marie-Caroline Willième, DO, is the founder of the Haptis Centre in Perwez, Belgium. In this centre a medical team of osteopaths, physical therapists and midwives work together providing holistic therapy for mothers and their babies. Marie-Caroline graduated as a physiotherapist in (YEAR) and as an osteopath in (YEAR). She has been teaching paediatric theory and practice to undergraduates and postgraduates in different osteopathic education institutes in Europe and Canada for 15 years.
