Mike Effle CEO, Vendio (Stanford MBA '99) Mike Effle joined Vendio in 1999 as one of the first 10 employees. He initially directed business development and strategy efforts and increasingly managed various product and functional department efforts during his time with Vendio. Effle was promoted from COO to CEO concurrent with Vendio's acquisition by Alibaba. Prior to Vendio, Effle spent five years serving his country as an officer in the United States Air Force where he was responsible for developing and producing large scale classified defensive systems for the F-16 that still defend our pilots today. He also held various roles at MCI, Boston Consulting Group, and Raytheon. Effle graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgetown University with a BS in finance and management and a minor in government. William F. Miller Co-Director, SPRIE, Former Provost, Stanford University Dr. William F. Miller has spent about half of his professional life in business and about half in academia. He was the last faculty member recruited to Stanford University by the legendary Frederick Terman, who was then vice oresident and Provost of Stanford. Miller himself later became vice president and Provost of Stanford. He conducted research and directed many graduate students in Computer Science. In 1968, Miller also played a role in the founding of the first Mayfield Fund (venture capital) as a special limited partner and advisor to the general partners.
