Dear Spartan, Welcome to the OLCHS Guide to Career Pathways! The information in this guide is meant to help students and families identify opportunities available to them based on career interests. By no means is this a comprehensive guide, but rather a few suggestions to start a conversation about “the next step.” Although required courses align with all 16 Career Clusters, students must take these courses in order to graduate from OLCHS. Therefore, they are not included in each pathway list of courses. Personal interests and hobbies may not always be reflected in the pathway list of courses; each list pertains to career interests only. Students are strongly encouraged to round-out their course selection with electives that will nourish their personal interests and hobbies as well as courses that help them plan for the future. Students are encouraged to customize their 4-year plan with specific courses, related prerequisite courses and related career information on Career Cruising. This guide is intended to provide general information related to career interest areas. It does not imply any guaranteed acceptance into a program of study. Students and families should carefully review post-secondary goals and entrance requirements for all post-secondary institutions of interest.
