DEMO: CREATE HEALTHIER CELEBRATIONS WITH A DO-IT-YOURSELF SPARKLING WATER BAR!

INTRODUCTIONHelp your clients turn any occasion into a celebration — and promote healthy hydration habits — with a Do-It-Yourself sparkling water bar! A sparkling water bar takes entertaining to a new level — whether hosting a backyard BBQ, a birthday party, or a fancy holiday dinner party. This presentation is beautiful, simple, and a great way to promote healthier beverage choices.

SUGGESTED PROPS AND SET UP RECOMMENDATIONS• Utilize props that are consistent with your overall

theme. If it’s a summer BBQ, have BBQ tools, grill grates and other items that one would expect to have at a BBQ. For a holiday dinner party, use the colors and table décor of the holiday.

• Display larger bottles of sparkling water at the back of the display table to add interest and height to your set.

• Include a bucket filled with ice and assorted sparkling waters. Add an international twist with favorites like Perrier® and S. Pellegrino®, or punch up the local flavor with sparkling water from your regional spring water brands (Poland Spring, Deer Park, etc.). Plain or flavored sparkling waters all work well!

• Include small bowls or mason jars each filled with an assortment of beautiful and aromatic fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices: (Examples: sliced strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, melon balls, cucumber slices, lemon and lime wedges, basil, mint and rosemary)

• Include ‘muddlers’ to help mix the ingredients and release the flavors. A small spoon can work, but we find disposable wooden honey sticks work best (check online!).

TALKING POINTS• Today I’m sharing one of my favorite ways for

turning any occasion into a celebration — with a Do-It-Yourself sparkling water bar.

• Sparkling water provides the refreshing fizziness of soda, but is naturally calorie-free and sugar-free.

• Beverages are the number one source of added sugars in the U.S. diet, providing some 47 percent of all the sugar we get on any given day.1

• Replacing one sugar-sweetened beverage with water every day can shave some 50,000 calories* and about 65 cups of added sugar from your diet.

• A sparkling water bar will take your entertaining to a new level — whether you’re hosting a casual backyard BBQ or a fancy holiday dinner party.

• All you need to do is provide your guests with a “bar” of colorful fruits, vegetables and herbs, like I have here, and they’ll do the rest.

• Kids, teens and adults alike will love creating their own refreshing creations.

• One of my favorites is using (insert favorite Nestlé Waters sparkling brand) with strawberries and basil and garnished with a lemon wedge. It’s so festive and refreshing — without having the calories or sugar of regular cocktails or soda.

• For another terrific idea, pour (insert favorite Nestlé Waters sparkling brand) into a stemmed wine glass and add a splash of melon balls, mint leaves and lime. That’s a favorite of mine when it’s hot!
