Parko developed a mobile application that automatically identifies parking spots that are about to become available and navigates users to available spots. Parko’s social parking platform brings a crowd-sourcing solution to the common pain that drivers in every big city go through when they circle the blocks looking for a parking spot. Parko is the unique combination of a social community both actively and passively sharing information on their soon-to-be-free parking spots using cutting-edge technology. Parko’s proprietary algorithms make use of information from more than 9 sensors found in a typical smartphone today to accurately identify parking spots that are about to become available in a completely passive way, without the users even needing to take their phones out their pockets. Parko’s API provides the parking ecosystem the ability to help drivers discover the optimal navigation route to a parking spot with real-time updates from other drivers. Parko’s technology analyzes the parking habits of opt-in users. Parko raised $1 million in a seed round from OurCrowd and SparkLabs Global Ventures.

Founded in 2013, Iodine mines clinical data to help consumers make better decisions about drugs. We crunch open government datasets (FDA, CMS, VA) to create targeted, actionable tools that drive better decisions, better adherence, and better outcomes. Iodine combines large healthcare datasets with a user's individual needs and background to create a personalized resource for better understanding and decision-making about health. Iodine addresses a massive need among Internet users: 23% are searching for drug information, and half of these are unsatisfied by what they find. We believe that too much information offered to patients today is generic, anecdotal, and out-of-date. We believe that data science can create better information that will improve adherence, enhance behavior, and make people more confident about their health. Iodine raised $1.5 million from SV Angel, Maveron, Felicis Ventures, BoxGroup, SparkLabs Global, and Collaborative Fund.
