SpanWright Case Study Custom Built Truck Mounted Crane Supply & Fit Project Alcester, Worcestershire CLIENT: Lakeside Special Products Ltd CONTRACT: Total Waterproofing Concepts Ltd LOCATION: Alcester, Worcestershire COMPLETION DATE: June 2010 SECTOR: Residential/ Private House ABOUT THE PROJECT Main contractor TWC Ltd selected Spanwright UK as the sub contractor that provided the most suitable cost effective option in a Custom Built Truck Mounted Crane, to supply and fit 150mm prestressed flooring units on a domestic project in Alcester, on the Heart of England Way 8 miles west of Stratford-upon-Avon. PROJECT CHALLENGES The challenges for Spanwright on this project were the limited access for articulated trucks for delivery and the absence of on site craneage to accomplish fitting within the confines of the site. The Spanwright Design and Dispatch teams in partnership with Declan O’Connor at TWC Ltd overcame the difficulties of confined access. Engaging a Truck Mounted Crane off loader lorry with fall protection the prestressed flooring slabs were fitted from the front of the site utilising the benefit of 14m reach from the Truck Mounted Crane in a one day visit.
