Conquest of the Americas
European exploration contributed to a revolution in trade, nutrition, and cultural exchange. The world population increased as a result of New World foods and trade in goods.
This exchange contributed to interdependence: What affects one region will affect us all.
European exploration of the Americas completely transforms both continents by wiping out indigenous people, culture, plants, and animals.
Those who survived found themselves in a new social and political hierarchy with Europeans at the top and themselves on the bottom.
