Randy’s RunLAKE GEORGE /SARATOGA – The 10th annual Randy’s Run will be held Saturday, May 21. Proceeds are used to ben-efi t Lake George students. The 5K Run and Walk in memory of Randal Madison will be held at 9am at Lake George Ele-mentary School, Sun Valley Drive, Lake George. Check in will begin at 7:30am and registration will be from 7:30-8:45am. The entry fee is $15 ($12 if you pre-register). Randal Madison, who died unexpectedly in 2001 at age 31 of a brain aneurysm, was a Lake George Elementary School teacher. The racecourse starts at Lake George Elementary School and follows the bikeway where Madison ran with his colleagues after school. Women’s Chorus Takes First PlaceSARATOGA – The Saratoga Soundtrack Chorus took fi rst place among other small women’s a cappella choruses of 15 to 30 members at the Sweet Adelines Region 16 competition in Syracuse. The score of 599 out of 800 currently places the cho-rus among the top Sweet Adelines choruses internationally. The chorus’ score was sixth best among all small, mid-sized and large choruses from throughout Region 16, which is the larg-est region in the worldwide Sweet Adeline organization from a membership perspective, with approximately 1,500 members in 34 choruses located in an area that stretches from Saratoga Springs west to Jamestown and north to Ottawa Canada. Sweet Adelines International is a worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barber-shop harmony through education and performance.
