Stem change verbsMost stem change verbs follow the rule that the stem always stays the same and the ending changes, like hablar:

Stem change verbsOther verbs change both the stem and the ending when you conjugate them. This can be pretty tricky- but don’t worry we’ll go slowly and do a lot of examples together!

Stem change verbsThere are four different types of stem changes. In some verbs:- An e changes to an ie- An o changes to a ue- An e changes to an i- A u changes to a ue

** here, a u changes to a ue

Stem change verbs are sometimes called boot verbs. This is because there is a stem change in every form besides the nosotros form. When you draw a line around the stem changers, you get a picture of a boot!
