A. This project consists of providing water service to approximately 17 property owners in an area known as the Southwood Subdivision (servicing specifically Southwood Drive). This meeting will provide for public participation on the consideration of this project. Discussion items will included water line locations, construction costs, tentative project schedules, and direct costs to the property owner.

Southwood Waterline Project HistorySouthwood Waterline Project History5/16/95 First informational meeting is held to discuss

replacing all private “spider” waterlines in the Southwood Area. Project was not constructed due to cost and lack of support.

Early 1996 Income Surveys were completed and the incomes were found to be to high to qualify for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).

1/21/99 Property owners petition for second informational meeting. Again, project was not constructed due to lack of support.

11/29/00 Property owners again request a meeting to discuss the schedule of possibly constructing an 8” public waterline.

This project will consist of installing 1,300 l.f. of 8” waterline, and will connect into the existing waterline at Adgate Road, Southland Place, and Southwood Drive. It will service 17 property owners.

separate their water systems and running a new lateral. Estimated cost $450.00 - $1,000.00

Note: The well may be used for watering lawns or other uses, but must be separated according to the Allen County Health Department Requirements.

City of Lima Tapping Cost:

a) $701.00 for a curb side meter with the option of running PVC service from meter to house. This fee must be paid in cash at the time of application for connection.

b) $622.00 for an indoor meter with remote meter. The customer would be required to run copper service from the house. This fee must be paid in cash at the time of application for connection.

Once a property owner has connected to the waterline he or she can expect to receive a monthly water bill.
