• Southwest Asia is considered part of the Asian Continent.

• It is made up of many countries including: Afghanistan, Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Syria and Saudi Arabia.

• The region is actually very similar to North Africa and many Central Asian and Eastern European countries as well.

• Southwest Asia is very much a dry area with many deserts.

• Most of the fertile land for growing grass is near the rivers.

• Water rights are a major issue.
