selective is not obedience.
Finally she says that there are two things we can count on about God and His plan.
1 – There is a God.
2 – We’re not HIM!
I like that because it’s good, practical advice!
By the way, how’s your Bible reading of the New Testament coming along? Are you ‘on track’?
This is February and on Sunday mornings, I’m real-ly excited about the series of sermons that will begin this month on Jesus’ para-bles!!!!
Thanks for your ministry in and out of the church. You are a missionary to people all around you and they are seeing Jesus through your word and actions!! Pray for the op-portunity to lead them to know the Jesus you serve!!!!
I love you and love being your pastor.
Bro. Ron
I like reading articles on CROSSWALK.COM. Here are some highlights from a May 2011 article: “5 Simple Steps to Discover God’s Plan for you” by Rebecca Barlow Jor-dan.
Finding God’s plan and pur-poses for life can be a chal-lenge because many of the questions we ask are not spe-cifically found in the Bible.
For example:
Who should I marry?
Should I go back to school?
Should I start my own business?
When should I retire?
What’s the next step in my life?
And, more like these…….
Here are the 5 steps she sug-gests to finding God’s will:
1 – ASK – James 1:6-7 says if you lack wisdom, ask God. We are not alone nor should we try to figure God’s will out by ourselves.
2 – BE FAITHFUL WHERE YOU
ARE – God will not give you more if you’re unfaithful with what you have. Conversely, if you are faithful with what has given you, He will probably give you more wisdom, etc…. (see Mt. 25:21)
3 – LISTEN – tune your spiritual ears to God, espe-cially His word. God will al-ways be consistent with His Word and will teach you through it. “Trying to make decisions without consulting God or His Word is like trying to find our way through a dark tunnel without a flashlight.”
4 – WAIT – God may give you multiple choices and will usu-ally give you His answer IF YOU WAIT ON HIM!!!! Don’t jump into decisions – trust and wait on God.
5 – OBEY – If you are faithful now, doing what you know is right, day in and day out, God will guide you to and through the future. Obedience that is

2 Chronicles 5:13 New Century Version (NCV) 13 Those who blew the trumpets and those who sang together sounded like one person as they praised and thanked the LORD. They sang as others played their trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments. They praised the LORD with this song: "He is good; his love continues forever." Then the Temple of the LORD was filled with a cloud.
FEB 2012
Have you ever thought about how much music has been a part of your life? If your mother listened to music while she
was pregnant with you research has shown it can make a difference in a child’s life. So because of that research we
know that you can listen to and react to music even before you breathe your first breath. In the nursery at the hospital
the staff probably played music to keep you calm. Growing up your diet of music existed of what your parent’s favorite
style of music was (in the early years). As you got older your own individual liking may have shifted from something they
liked to something else. And today – hearing a certain song that you haven’t heard in a long time reminds you of a
specific place and time. Emotionally music can connect us to people from our past – or sometimes bring us out of a
depressed state. OKAY STOP
What I have shared so far could be for a person who has a relationship with Jesus Christ or someone who has not. Have
you ever thought about how music can be a common thread to open a door with someone who doesn’t know Jesus and
the similarities you share is something God can use to open a door that was closed before. Think about that next time
you are trying to start a conversation with someone. A question like – Do you remember the kind of music your parents
played on the radio when you were growing up? God has given you life experiences that no one else has that will
benefit His kingdom if you are courageous enough to allow Him to use you. Give God some room to show you how He
can use you.

Looking Ahead • In February, on Wednesday nights at Lifeline we will be
studying and learning about “Purity Matters”. We will be
talking about how to live a pure life, how to stay sexually pure,
how to speak purely, and how to deal with sexual images in
our culture. This will be another great month as our students
understand what the Bible says about purity. Please pray!!!
• Our annual Super Bowl party will be on Sunday, February 5th
at the Isringhausen’s. It will start around 5:00 and end when
the game is over. Come cheer on your team, eat some food,
and have a great time. We ask you to bring either a snack or
a 2 liter of soda when you come.
• The Student Leadership Team will meet again on Saturday,
February 11th from 1:00-3:00. Come and take some
ownership of our student ministry. Must be in 9th grade or
above.
• The puppet ministry will perform during the evening service on
Sunday, February 26th at 6:30.
Prayer Calendar
Every student in our youth group
will be a part of the prayer
calendar. A youth will be
spotlighted and focused on for
one week. Please pray for this
student during that week and ask
that God will place a special
blessing on them as they go about
their daily lives. Maybe send
them a note of encouragement or
a phone call or text to let them
know you’re praying for them.
Here’s the schedule for this
month:
1st week: Jillian Potts 2nd week: Clay Loughridge 3rd week: Auriana Adrian 4th week: David Wang 5th week: Kyla Iler
Looking Back • January was a great month for the Southridge Student
Ministry. On Wednesday nights we studied and talked about
“Deconstructing Media”. This topic was very relevant to our
students because each day they face challenges with all
sorts of media. Ask our students what they learned from this
and see if they are making better choices with media.
• Our Student Leadership Planning meeting was a great
success. We were able to talk about and discuss several
things including events, Wednesday nights, goals, and
responsibilities.
• On Friday, January 20th, we had a pop up Game Night here
at church. Around 20 students came out to play some board
games, eat snacks, and play underground church (the
favorite).
