Capability to support a highly strategic business activity like M&A is a sure fire path to a seat at the table for HR and Benefits. Plus, mergers and acquisitions are critically important opportunities for companies yet study after study puts the failure rate of acquisitions between 70 and 90 percent. HR and Benefits are either partially or wholly responsible for activities that contribute to three of top five areas that have been identified as contributing to that failure rate. This session will include a quick recap of M&A Part One and then will continue to dig into what the Benefits team needs to do and how to do it when their company is merging with or acquiring another company. The speakers have a combined forty years of experience as plan sponsors and will provide insights and exercises designed to prepare a Benefits Professional to get in the M&A game and, more importantly, hit home runs when they do.
