Trail of Tears

• The U.S government forced the Cherokee off their lands so the Europeans could settle there

• They were force d to walk hundreds of miles to what is not Oklahoma

• Called the Journey “ The Trail of Tears”– Because many died to illness, hunger, exhaustion

Changing times

• After the civil war-changes happened• Segregation happened here-separating races– Bathrooms, schools

• SE region is Rich in music• Many musicians come from this region
