South Texas College and Weslaco East ECHS Summer Bridge Program
South Texas College (STC)/ Weslaco East ECHS Summer Bridge program is intended to introduce incoming 9th grade ECHS cohorts to the college environment through an array of college readiness activities. The day will commence with students attending orientation for a half day (8:30 a.m-12:30 p.m.) to ensure they familiarize themselves with different departments throughout the college. Summer Bridge will allow students the opportunity to tour STC campus (Pecan or Mid-Valley), complete an STC Apply Texas Spring 2019 application, learn to navigate Career Coach and participate in Student Life activities. STC will also present on classroom etiquette, degree plan overview and the importance of being an ECHS student. June 3-28, 2019 is designated as the Summer Bridge month. Weslaco East ECHS will schedule college visits for 2 days.

Seré puntual.
Evitare faltas al Campo de Puente. Si es necesario que falte, me pondré en contacto con la oficina de la Escuela Preparatoria de Wéslaco o al adulto designado como facilitador de Campo de Puente.
Me respetaré a mí mismo no fumando, usando drogas o alcohol.
Seré considerado, cortés y respetuoso. Comportamiento inapropiado incluye ser grosero, rezongando, maldiciendo, insultando, ofendiendo a otros, peleando, no respetando las opiniones de otros, etc.
Escucharé y seguiré las instrucciones de los adultos en autoridad. (maestros, administradores, conserjes, secretarias, facilitadores de preparatoria, etc).
Seguiré las reglas de talleres/salones de clase. Los estudiantes alzarán las manos y esperarán para ser reconocidos, y no interrumpirán a otros.
Caminaré de una manera ordenada mientras esté en el campo. Comportamiento inapropiado incluye: corriendo, gritando, empujando, obstruyendo la fluidez del tráfico, congregando o moviéndose en grupos grandes.
Mantendré las manos, pies y objetos a mí mismo. Comportamiento inapropiado incluye:
empujando, dando patadas, tropezando, pegando, jugueteando, jugando a pelear y peleando. Mostrando el afecto en público también es inapropiado.
Mostraré respeto. Comportamiento inapropiado incluye: escribiendo en o arañando propiedad de la escuela o propiedad de otros, o tomando cosas sin permiso previo.

ECHS Summer Bridge Camp Behavior Pledge
All Summer Bridge Camp participants are expected to adhere to Weslaco ISD school discipline policy and procedures.
I will, be on time.
I will, avoid absences of Bridge-camp. If an absence is necessary, I will contact the Weslaco High School office or assigned adult Bridge-camp facilitator.
I will, show self-respect by not smoking, using drugs or alcohol.
I will, be considerate, courteous and respectful. Inappropriate behavior includes rudeness, back talk, cursing/swearing, name-calling, putdowns, fighting, not respecting opinions of others, etc.
I will, listen to and follow directions of adults in authority (teachers, administrators, custodians, secretaries, high school facilitators, etc).
I will, follow workshop/classroom rules. Students will raise their hands and wait to be recognized, and will not interrupt others.
I will, walk in an orderly manner while at camp. Inappropriate behavior includes: running, yelling, pushing, shoving, interfering with the flow of traffic, congregating or moving around in large groups.
I will, keep hands, feet and objects to myself. Inappropriate behavior includes: shoving, kicking, tripping, hitting, horseplay, play fighting and fighting. Public displays of affection are also not appropriate.
I will, show respect for school property and the property of others. Inappropriate behavior includes: writing on or scratching school or other people’s property, or taking things without asking to borrow or use them.
I will, have food only in designated areas. Inappropriate behavior includes: eating or drinking in the halls, gym, classrooms or yellow school buses, except under special circumstances authorized by facilitators.
I will, bring problems and concerns to the attention of an adult or peer facilitator: Inappropriate behavior includes: talking about others, spreading rumors or hearsay, confronting other students, carrying weapons, etc.
