Mini-decorating project
The IMAGINE collection: An under-the-bed secret hiding-place

Required items:
• A South Shore™ bed from the IMAGINE collection • Fabric of your choice – 2 m • Self-sticking Velcro (“male” and “female” surfaces) – 1 m • Scissors • Ribbon – 2 m – to match the fabric chosen
If you’re a perfectionist: • A sewing machine, to finish the curtains!

Step 1:
• Cut the fabric into two sections, each one measuring 70 X 100 cm
(27” X 40”).

Step 2:
• Identify the two Velcro
surfaces: the rough side is
the “male” surface and the
smooth one the “female”.
"Male" side "Female" side
• Cut the "male" Velcro piece
at 112 cm (47¼") and the
"female” one into two 69-cm
(27”) sections.

Step 3:
• Stick the 112-cm (47") section of Velcro (the
"male" piece) to the bottom of the storage bin.
• Important: Stick the strip to the sides and front
of the storage bin, as shown by the red arrow
on the image below.

Steps 4 and 5:
• Stick the other two 70-cm (27") pieces to
the top edge of the fabric, on the printed
side.
• As you form a series of "S"s with the
fabric, attach the "female" side of the
Velcro to the “male” piece that you have
already stuck to the bottom of the storage
bin. The "S" folds will make the curtains
somewhat flexible.

Step 6:
• Cut the ribbon into two sections of equal size.
• Open up the centre of the hiding-place by tying the curtains off to
the sides.

Step 7:
Encourage your child to decorate
and organize this little nook with
cushions, a rug, stuffed toys,
books, etc. to suit his/her
personal taste and specific
needs.
