2018 Mark Your Calendars … by Tom Cusaxck
We have some club sponsored events
coming up in April and May that have some
changes we want to highlight for you.
The April Social will be held on the
second Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the
Mount Laurel Community Center. The
February Social was held at this Center
receiving generally good feedback from the
good sized crowd that attended. Get all the
details from the posting contained in this
newsletter.
The Anniversary Party, celebrating our
18th year, will be held on the third
Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at a new
location ... the Knights of Columbus Hall in
Maple Shade. Catering will be provided by
Mirabella Catering and entertainment will
be provided by Johnny Morsa. Johnny was a
big hit at our Christmas Cabaret, and he will
be expanding his vocal performance to
include DJ’ing some dance sets.
Lastly there is a different kind of event
that we encourage you to attend.. the Senior
Expo on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. There’s
plenty of interesting and entertaining things
to do there. Get all the details from the
posting and event flyer contained in this
newsletter.
Brunching in Cherry Hill by Don Nelson
Eight famished "Fifty's" found a feast at
a new venue in Cherry Hill.. While not so
overwhelming as last years treat at the
Adelphia, we all enjoyed the food and
fellowship that were interspersed at
Kaminski's.
Shirlee and I were hoping for a few more
hungry club members with a restaurant that
is more central to the homes of our club
members, but this could happen next time.
You weren't there? You missed a treat!

it is very nice. For those of you that
have not been to the Center, we think
you will like this facility. The address
of the Mount Laurel Community Center

Moorestown Mall on your right, go to
the 4th traffic light and turn right onto
Mount Laurel Road. Go to the first

Our Club—A Quick View
When we started this club in October
of 2000, our goal was to provide
interesting social activities for people
over 50 years of age.
Since that time we’ve sponsored
thousands of activities from free concerts
in local parks to trips to Hong Kong.
While not intended to be a partnership
meeting place, many of us have found
lasting friendships. We’ve noticed that
the more involved you are, the more
satisfying the friendships become. As
you might expect, we’ve seen our share
of marriages as well.
Some other events include dance
parties at local clubs, pinochle games,
Kimmel Center concerts, dinners, trips
and special interest groups like
photography and birding.
We have no limit as to what adventure
might be sponsored. Belonging is lots of
fun. Lonely nights tend to disappear.
We provide descriptions of events and
current information by way of a monthly
newsletter, a web site and a weekly
email. We email special changes as
needed.
The basis of our club is members
hosting events for other members. That is
what keeps the club vibrant and moving
forward. So think of something you
would like to do or attend, and host it as
a club event. We need your
participation.
