AIR POLLUTION
# 2 in the world New Delhi
• 3 more cities in the Top Ten Worst
WHY?Short Answer Increased Car Ownership
Long Answer A meteorological phenomenon known as “inversion” often occurs in valleys similar to those of New Delhi and Beijing. Inversion results in stagnant air, often for days, with no clearing. Therefore, all of the exhaust from vehicles remains trapped in the lower atmosphere. Of course, this is only an issue when there are too many cars in a given area.
