Smriti: Smriti is of 2 types:a) Manusmritib) Yagyavalkyac) NaradsmritiThey were in Sanskrit, away from the understanding of people. So commentaries were required. MedatithiMitakshra: Governed entire country except Bihar, Bengal and parts of orissaDayabhaga: Made a digest on Hindu laws. Within Mitakshra there are 4 schools:Mitila, Benaras, Maharashtra, Dravida.This was the Bhramhinical Era.
