Director of SOS, Mrs. Shahnaz Zaman with Youth girls from SOS children’s Village Multan were invited from hosts of the party. Treasurer of SOS Multan Mrs. Haniya Shahid also prepared some dances on different songs with our youth girls for her Mehndi. All enjoyed and danced there. It was a great memorable night for all of them.

The children appreciated this wonderful gesture and cherished their gifts and memories. This practice will repeat on every month and provide a chance to all the children of SOS to tell their wishes and Friends of SOS Committee will fulfill their wishes.

MarriageCeremonyofSOSChild:On 9th March 2019, our child of SOS ‘Nusrat’ marriage has been held in SOS Children’s Village Multan. Mrs. Fozia Mughis Sheikh, Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed, Mrs. Saima Faisal and Nusrat’s sponsor Mrs. Haniya Shahid with her husband were came and attended the Nusrat wedding.

BLOOMFIELD JUNIOR HALL CAMPUS VISITED SOSCHILDREN’SVILLAGEMULTAN:On 18th March, Girls from Bloomfield hall Junior Girls Campus with their staff members paid a visit at SOS Children’s Village Multan. They visited all three projects of SOS Children’s Village Multan. They spent the whole day with the children of SOS and also distributed gifts among children.

CHILD PROTECTION BUREAU VISITED SOSCHILDREN’SVILLAGEMULTAN:Chairperson of Child Protection Bureau visited SOS Children’s Village Multan. Her team visited all projects of SOS Multan. The Presentation about the introduction of SOS Children’s Villages of Pakistan and SOS Children’s Village Multan was given by our General Secretary Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh. They were very pleased to see the entire setup of SOS Children’s Village Multan and they also admired the confidence of Children of SOS.

BLOOMFIELDPREPSANDJUNIORSCHOOLVISITEDSOSCHILDREN’SVILLAGEMULTAN:On 26th March, Bloom Field Hall Juniors School visited SOS Children’s Village Multan with twenty students along their teaching staff. The students of and the staff members visited all the projects of SOS Multan, In the SOS Children’s Village Multan the students of Bloomfield preps and junior School distributed gifts among the children of SOS, the SOS Children and were very pleased to see the entire setup of SOS and also appreciated the standards and cause of SOS.

MEEZANCOOKINGOILVISIT:On 27 March, 2019 Mr. Sajjad Ali visited with their team at SOS Children’s Village Multan. The purpose of this visit was to conduct an activity of cooking competition amongst Youth Girls of SOS Children’s Village Multan. Our youth girls made different dishes such as Chana Chat by Muqadas Khalil, Mutton Qorma by Maria, Yakhmi Pulao by Naseem, Spaghetti Balls by Shaheen, Sandwiches by Bakhtawar, Russian Salad by Fatima and Chocolate Cake by Noor. Our youth girls also won prizes, 1st prize won by Shaheen for Spaghetti Balls and 2nd prize won by Bakhtawar and Fatima and 3rd won by Maria.

ORTHO’SSOCIETYSTUDENTSVISITOn 30 March, 2019, Ortho’s society had arranged different activities for the children of SOS. They also arranged two different magic shows for the children and also served “shawrma. It was a very delightful activity.

MULTANMEDICALDENTALCOLLEGEVISIT:On 31st March 2019, Dr. Jawad & Dr. Qurat ul Ain with their colleagues paid their visit at SOS Children’s Village Multan. The purpose of this visits are Character Building and forgiveness through Surah Rehman..

PROMOTINGDRINKINGWATER:The children of SOS Village Multan are getting mentally stronger, confident and trained in all aspects. In this Month, our General Secretary Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh suggested the activity of drinking water. All houses were gathered along with their housemothers and were told about importance of drinking water. At the end of the month, the child who drinks eight glass of water daily will get a gift.

AWORKSHOPFORTEACHERSANDSTUDENTSABOUT ONLINE COURSES THROUGH“DIGISKILLS.PK”:On 19th March, 2019 a workshop was conducted for the teachers and students about online courses through “Digiskills.pk”. These courses are affiliated with Virtual University (VU) and Govt. of Punjab.

This workshop was conducted by Mohsin Shayan from Islamabad. Our Academic Head Mr. Kamran Yousaf introduced the staff members and students with Mr. Mohsin Shayan.

Mr. Mohsin Shayan started the workshop with the appreciation. Then he briefed the teachers and students about these courses. He said that we are starting these courses to prepare our new generation against the world’s changes. He said that we needed these types of courses because many old professions have been disappeared and new professions are replaced by then.

It was one informative and fruitful workshop. These types of courses will open new ways of information and will provide opportunities for online business and earning. At the end all the staff and students thanked Mr. Mohsin Shayan who conducted this fruitful workshop for them.

VISITOFSTRENGTHENINGPARTICIPATORYORGANIZATION(SPO):On 5th March, 2019 SPO team visited SOS Hermann Gmeiner Higher Secondary School Multan. The basic purpose of this visit was to gain feedback from the staff members about their previous session, which was conducted about child protection. He talked to the teachers about child protection and shared different strategies to guide the (students) children. He motivated the teachers to utilize their hidden abilities and implement practical work in your subject or lesson.

It was a healthy conversation session. All the teachers gave positive feedback and thanked to Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO).

With the efforts of Mr. Imran Malik and Mr. Muhammad Tayyab District Governor Rotary Club of Multan Chenab Mr. Ch. Mushtaq Ahmad visited SMIT on 16th March, 2019 and gave a cheque to needy and deserving students. After that they planted a tree in SMIT garden and prayed to grant more success and achievements to SMIT.

Information Session of Online learning fromDigiskills.pk:DigiSkills is a nation-wide program funded by the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecom through Ignite to train 1 million people in the future of work using technology.

Digiskills.pk conducted a session in SMIT on 19th March, 2019 for awareness of online learning with earning. They thoroughly introduced their learning management system, courses, and student support after completion of course and certification. About 250 plus students attend the session and appreciate the SMIT’s arrangements. During session Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh (General Secretary SMIT) announced that every student must avail this opportunity offered by Digiskills.pk, she also announced that external and pass out students might use SMIT’s computer labs for getting maximum benefits from this opportunity.

PSDFCOURSESEXAMS:SMIT has been running three different schemes of PSDF like “Skills for Jobs 2018”, “Skills for Services 2018” and “Punjab Skills Development Program 2018”. On 26th March, 2019 PSDF start conducting exams of its trades like Computer Applications, HVACR, Auto CAD Civil Draftsman and Dress Design and Tailoring. All classes appeared with full strength and preparation in both theory and practical exams.

NAVTTCCOURSESEXAMS: NAVTTC’s Phase-IV (leftover quota) consists of two trades i.e. “Industrial Electrician” and “Refrigeration & Air Conditioning. On NAVTTC final assessment day six trade specialists were appointed by NAVTTC to asses each trade. All trainees appeared in exams and performed very well. Assessors appreciate the standard to training of SMIT.
