This event was created in 1982 when the editors-in-chief of 5 of the most reputed photography magazines nominated the “Best Camera of the Year”. Since then, five more prize categories have been introduced. Now, the six categories are: Hi-Fi, Home Theatre Audio, Photography, Home Theatre Display & Video, In-Car Electronics and Mobile Devices. The European Imaging and Sound Association convention is a major event where the most prominent European journalists of specialised audio and video magazines gather to reward the most innovative and the best products in each category (Home Theatre Audio, In-Car Electronics, Photography, Home Theatre Display & Video…). After the exhibition of cutting-edge high-tech products at this year’s EISA convention in Brussels, the floor standing loudspeaker Sopra N°2 caught the attention of the well- informed jury who rewarded it with the EISA Award 2015 for Best Product in the Home Theatre Audio category. This follows a previous award for the Premium Sopra range of loudspeakers which was voted best product at the High End Show 2015 in Munich. Its sexy and compact design clearly seduced the show’s visitors. This new award marks Sopra’s success in the world of Premium loudspeakers and is Focal’s 10th EISA Award since 2002. In 2014, the Dimension sound bar was another of Focal’s products to be praised by the jury.
