Vibhanshi• When Vibhanshi was first referred to the National

NGO, she was a 4 year old girl with Acute Lymphatic Leukaemia. She needed immediate medical attention and corrective surgery.

• Her surgery required Rs. 150,000 which was beyond affordable for her family as her father who is a construction site worker in Ghaziabad is the sole bread winner. A full day’s work fetches him a scanty income of Rs. 100 to 150/.

• So, her father brought her to AIIMS, to Dr. B.R.A Institute of Rotary Cancer Hospital. Considering her background and the nature of the case the doctors at AIIMS referred her to  National NGO where we collected the required amount for her surgery and ensured that she has access to life!

Amil

• Amil was very pale when he was brought to Dr. B.R.A. Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital at AIIMS. After conducting a series of tests, Dr. Sameer Bakshi told this 9 year old’s parents that he was suffering from acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and an abnormality on his MLL gene, commonly seen in infants with leukemia.

• Acute myeloid leukemia is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells, characterized by the rapid growth of abnormal white blood cells that accumulate in the bone marrow and interfere with the production of normal blood cells.

• Amil’s parents couldn’t afford the cost of the surgery, which was a massive sum of Rs. 250,000.

• National NGO was acquainted with this case and the organization ensured that no stone was left unturned in saving the child’s life. Amil is a very healthy and happy boy today who spends his time playing with his brothers and sisters.
