Threading our worlds together
Where thou art, that is home. Emily Dickinson
SOMA Goods creates home and gift accessories inspired by a well-traveled life. Designed to reflect vibrant cultures and destinations around the globe, our goods are proudly crafted in Atlanta, GA.
We are committed to making beautiful quality goods and providing work opportunities for talented seamstresses from the refugee community in the USA. With every sale, we invest at least ten percent of returns in our non-profit partners Fugees Family and Global Village Project.
Dream big.
That’s the notion I started with last summer when I was a finalist for the Plywood Presents Idea Competition. Fighting quivering knees and shaky nerves, I explained my concept for a socially conscious business that could help women from the refugee community.
My parents, both immigrants from China, came to this country with a dream for a better life. I was lucky enough to have been born in America, the land of opportunity, but I believe that everyone deserves a fresh start and the opportunity to dream big.
Together with my talented seamstresses, we have created a collection that we hope inspires travelers and dreamers alike. Join us on our journey to put the good in goods.
brIGhTly,
Derived from the Sanskrit word for “strip of cloth,” saris can traced back to the Indus Valley Civilization. Saris are traditional garments worn in Indian and South Asian cultures for special occasions such as weddings and also for everyday purposes. The most common style is for the sari to be wrapped around the waist, with one end draped over the shoulder. We take vintage and found saris and breathe new life into them.
We launched the African print collection with this limited edition pillow inspired by a young girl named Angel who wants to be the future President of Uganda. We saw a picture of her wearing a shirt with a heart on it and wanted to share her story with the world. Proceeds will also benefit the documentary film Imba! Means Sing, which features Angel and the African Children’s Choir.

Rahnuma and Nasrin, sisters originally from Afghanistan, left their war-torn country when they were young and learned to sew in India, where their father could find work. They never had any formal education until they came to the USA and enrolled in the Global Village Project in their 20s. They dream someday of running their own alteration business.
Rana, originally from Iraq, studied at university and learned to sew from her mother. her 3-year-old daughter loves to pretend that she is also designing and sewing with her mom.
Nynta, a high school student originally from Sudan, was so nervous during her first interview that she didn’t say a word. but she has shown up to work once a week to help out with product design and trunk shows. her dream is to go to college and she’s beginning the application process.
All pillows are sewn with a hidden zipper enclosure for easy removal and include a 90/10 feather down insert made in USA. Our goods come with a 100-percent satisfaction guarantee. If you aren’t satisfied with a product, simply send it back for a refund or exchange within 60 days of purchase.
Elephants symbolize strength and power in many cultures. In the hindu tradition, elephants call up the image of Ganesha, a revered symbol of knowledge. In Siam, laos and Cambodia, the white elephant is said to grant rainfall and harvests of plenty. We hope our elephant collection will bring you plenty of good luck and inner strength.
