Soybeans

Initial Harvesting Recommendations• Adjust header angle for optimum cutting performance

- Too far forward and will push the crop

• Position the reel directly over the cutterbar and just low enoughsothereelfingersengagethecrop- Auger platforms – reel down and back- Draper platforms – reel out and up

• Adjustbeltspeedforsmoothcropflowontothe center belt

• Adjust HydraFlex™ pressure according to ground conditions (start at 1,300 for normal ground conditions)

• Rotor speed should be in high gear

• The feed accelerator should be in the low speed (430 rpm)

• Ensure the round bar concave is level

• Maintain proper ground speed so that the concave area is full

• If material is bunching up on the ends then install open guards

• Try using the lowest rotor speed that provides best threshing . Excessive rotor speed is the leading cause of grain damage

• Always try to eliminate unthreshed loss by decreasing the concave clearance before increasing the rotor speed

• Watch sieve adjustment – if it’s too tight it will cause increased tailings and grain damage

• Watch fan speed – if it’s too high it will blow the grain into tailings or out the back

The basic key to good quality harvested soybeans relies upon the operator paying close attention to the combine and taking the time to always observe/make adjustments. Try to harvest your beans at an “ideal” 14% -16% moisture. Anything above may require higher rotor speed which can cause increased damage. * Suggested to always start with Harvest Settings application recommended settings
