Solutions For many things people are annoyed about in this game or even any other board game, there seems to be an updated version to solve this problem. Board size The problem of reaching the pawns on the other side of the board seems to be solved by using a smaller board. Urban solutions were asking the player on the other side to move you pawn. Holes in the board A solution against knocking the pawns or even placing the pawns the wrong way is to put holes into the board where the pawns fit in just right. Another solution is using magnets where the pawns would stick on the board. The chance the to knock them over of placing the in the middle of spaces is very low. Dice The problem with the flying dice seem to be over with the new system called 'klik klak' or 'dobbelautomaat'. It's basically containing the die in a closed bowl, never lose them and never have them flying again. Of course it's not the same as rolling a die. Themes and figures Many manufacturers tried to add a theme and change the basic pawns into figures matching the theme. Examples are animals, vehicles or even franchise-based characters. It added a little bit of something into the game, but it does nothing to the general boringness, game play or goal. 'Mens erger je niet!' with the pits and the 'klik klak' 'dobbelautomaat'.

Technological innovations The other part of our project is to look into innovative technologies that we could implement into the chosen game. There were a few ideas we have thought of.

Tablet and Smart phone The first thing that can to mind when it comes to digital elements would be making an app for tablets and smart phones. It seems to be done for many games now, so it would not be something to be accounted for 2020 although it could become part of our project.

Augmented Reality Augmented Reality has become quite the trend the last few years. By using one or more sensors of a device, it could add the collected data to a new image to the real world on the screen. As we are advancing, it seems smart phones are getting more and more common. Each of these smart phones got sensors like cameras and GPS for use in Augmented Reality. There is one big downfall to this technology though, we don't know what use it has for our game 'Mens erger je niet!'. Maybe animations or something.

Apptivity and iPawn Nowadays there are special toys developed for use on tablets and smart phones. These toys could be used on the devices to play various games. They could be used as pawns for the games for example. A neat overlap between digital and reality.

Dice+ (Dice Plus) Another upcoming toy for our trusted tablets and smart phones is the Dice+, a six-sided die that connects to your tablet or smart phone and let it know what the result is. Yet another nice invention to overlap the cool digital world with our world of social interactions.

Flexible screen The flexible screen seems to be the upcoming trend for the near future as many of the big companies seems to put a lot of money and effort into developing them. As for our project, it seems to be the perfect solution to transport it and use it whenever we want it. We see a future where the flexible screen will replace our televisions and tablets and will become a part of our daily life.

Phone check-in Personal profile and check-in systems seem to be doing great these 10 years and it is only getting better and better. It could be possible that we are able to have this technology for home use, this could be part of our project as we have some ideas of using personal profiles.

Hologram Although using holograms seems to be science fiction, we strongly believe that it will one day be fully developed and ready for the average household. The hologram will most probable increase the experience of gaming, watching movies or even having a videoconference. It surely will replace the stereoscopic 3D screens.

The hologram is still not what it should be like in the movies, at least not yet.
