Over 4,000 items with basic, packaging and price data are continuously imported via proALPHA’s XML interface. In crossbase, items with technical characteristics, CAD data and product relationships, e.g. for cross-selling, are also maintained. A special feature is the Tecdoc interface, a format for manufac- turer-independent classification and description of vehicles. Regular updates of the vehicle structure with over 40,000 vehicle models are carried out via the interface. Using a rule- based configurator, Walser is able to automatically assign the items to the vehicle models. This is the basis to be able to search for suitable articles in the online shop about the vehicle. The integrated MAM manages product photos, application photos, graphics, assembly photos and documents for download and automatically generates additional image formats with the graphics converter. In order to keep the effort for text maintenance and translations to a minimum, texts are often reused. The trans- lation of technical terms and advertising texts is done on the basis of exports based on the exact scope of untranslated text. To be able to use products for eCommerce in online shops and eFulfilment (eBay, Amazon, etc.) market-specifically, the products are referenced in the corresponding sales channels market- ing-specifically. Data from crossbase is provided via XML interface for the online media. This applies to the online shop for end users and resellers (shopware, see www.tanmar.de/referenzen/ walser) and the eFulfilment platform (see www.efulfilment.de), which supplies various other online shops, third-party channels and chain stores with data and fully controls order processing. Internally, multilingual data sheets are created automatically with Word. In addition, extensive Excel exports are gener- ated, e.g. the illustrated price list, which can be individually configured and created with the crossbase Excel configurator.
