BATCH REACTOR
HE Batch Reactor (Model: BP 409) has been designed to introduce students of Chemical Engineering
on reactor and reaction behaviour. Students shall be able to run both the adiabatic and isothermal
batch reactions. The unit comes with all the ancillary equipment except analytical instrumentation for
the measurement of the composition of feed and product mixtures. The unit includes a reactor vesselof approximately 2 litres total capacity, and is equipped with a variable speed stirrer, inlet and outlet ports for the
feed, sampling and measurement of temperature and conductivity.
Two non-corroding feed storage vessels with
chemically resistant pumps and flow-meters are
supplied. A product/waste collection vessel is also
provided. The reactor incorporates a vacuum jacket
at the outside and a cooling coil at the inside so that
exothermic or endothermic reaction can therefore be
carried out at constant temperature (isothermal) or
adiabatic condition.
Optional electronic instrumentations with digital
indicators and data acquisition system in a PC can
be offered for continuous monitoring of temperature
and conductivity.
