Leonardo Bes monte, Jr. Ruby Jane’s remains were buried November 27, with the SOLT priests celebrating and the SOLT family in at tendance. COMMEMORATION OF THE DEAD. A mass to commem orate the beloved dead, especially the members of the Society of Our Lady and the KapamilyaSOLT was held at the Porta Coeli, 4pm on November 2. The Regional Priest Servant was the celebrant and preacher, and in attend ance were the Formation Center residents and some Kapamilyarelatives of the deceased. A simple agape in front of the Regionalate followed the Mass. PRIESTS’ PERPETUAL PROFESSION. Bros. Erik Medi avillo, Leonardo Besmonte, Jr., and Francis Quan Ngoc Le made their Perpetual Profession of the Promises before the General Priest Servant on November 7, 10am, at the Priests’ Novitiate Chapel. RPS’ VISIT. The Regional Priest Servant made an admin istrative visit to Fr. Jose Roger Abalon last November 9 at Makabud, Amparo Village. DEMISE OF KAPAMILYA. WORLD   CONGRESS.   Fr.   Pedro   Balde,   Jr.,   and   Fr.   Alex  Barnedo  attended  the  World  Congress  on  Migration   in  Rome  last  November  9-­‐12.

REGIONAL  RETREAT.  The  clerics  of  the  Society  of  Our  Lady  assigned  in  parishes  in  Bicol  Region  attended  the  Bicol   Regional   Clergy   Retreat   facilitated   by   the   Most  Reverend  Arturo  Bastes,  SVD,  DD,  last  November  9-­‐13  at  the  Bethlehem  Pastoral  Center,  Bacacay,  Albay.

DIACONAL  ORDINATION.  Bros.  Erik  Mediavillo,  Leon-­‐ardo  Besmonte,  Jr.,  and  Francis  Quan  Ngoc  Le  were  or-­‐dained  as  Deacons  by  the  Most  Reverend  Arturo  Bastes,  SVD,  DD,  Bishop  of  the  Diocese  of  Sorsogon,  last  Novem-­‐ber  19,  9am,  at   the  Holy  Family  Parish  Church,  Putiao,  Sorsogon.  

The  respective   families  of  Bros.  Erik  and  Leo  were  present  during  the  event.  The  family  of  Bro.  Francis  also  came  all  the  way  from  Canada  and  Vietnam.

Deacon  Erik  was  assigned  to  assist  the  Our  Lady  of  the  Most  Holy  Rosary  Parish  in  Badian,  Oas,  Albay;  Dea-­‐con  Leo  to  assist  St.   Joseph  the  Worker  Parish  in  Villa-­‐hermosa,  Rapu-­‐Rapu,  Albay;  and  Deacon  Francis  as  resi-­‐dent  of  the  SOLT  Regionalate.

MISSION  EXPOSURE.  Six  priest-­‐aspirants  and  two  lay-­‐aspirants   had   a  Mission  Exposure   at   the   Sacred  Heart  Mission  Parish,  Cabasan,  Bacacay,  Albay,  last  November  21-­‐24.

DIALOGUES.  The  Regional  Priest  Servant  conducted  di-­‐alogues  last  November  21,  8am,  with  Fr.  Peter  Giao  Van  

Saligumba   at   Mater   Ecclesiae;   and   last   November   26,  11am,  with  Fr.  Jerlie  Millena,  also  at  Mater  Ecclesiae.

ANNUAL   RETREAT.   The   clergy   of   the   Society   of   Our  

retreat  last  November  23-­‐27  at  the  Mater  Ecclesiae  For-­‐mation  Center,  Cadlan,  Pili  Camarines  Sur.  

The  Most  Reverend  Mylo  Hubert  Vergara,  DD,  Bishop  of  the  Diocese  of  San  Jose  de  Nueva  Ecija,  was  the  facili-­‐tator  of  the  event.  He  talked  primarily  of  priesthood  in  the  light  of  the  life  and  works  of  St.  John  Mary  Vianney.

The  General  Priest  Servant  presided  over  the  Open-­‐ing  Mass,  Fr.  Peter  Ripa,  Fr.  Simon  Paglau  and  Bishop  Mylo  from  the  second  to  the  fourth  day,  respectively,  while  the  Regional  Priest  Servant  on  the  Concluding  Mass.

BISHOP  VISITS.  Most  Reverend  Douglas  Young,  SVD,  DD,  Archbishop  of  the  Archdiocese  of  Mt.  Hagen,  Papua  New  Guinea,  arrived  last  November  24  to  visit  the  Society  of  Our  Lady’s  community  in  the  Philippines.  

Bishop  Douglas  gave  a  short  message  to  the  priests  in  the  afternoon  of  the  same  day  and  during  the  retreat,  and  proceeded   to   the  Formation  Center   right   after   for  his  overnight  stay.  The  Formation  Center  residents  wel-­‐comed  him  with  an  agape.

He  left   for  Manila  after  celebrating  the  Mass  at  the  Sisters’  Novitiate  Chapel  in  the  morning  of  the  following  day.

PARISH  FIESTA.  The  Our  Lady  of  the  Miraculous  Medal  Parish,  Mataoroc,  Minalabac,  Camarines  Sur,  celebrated  its  feast  last  November  27.  The  Regional  Priest  Servant  

was  the  celebrant  and  preacher  for  the  Mass.

KAPAMILYA   RECOLLECTION.   The   Kapamilya-­‐SOLT

gathered  for  an  Advent  Recollection  last  November  28.  

The  Regional  Priest  Servant  presided  over  the  clos-­‐ing  Eucharist   at   2pm,  with   the  Formation  Center   resi-­‐dents  attending.  Concelebrating  were  the  General  Priest  Servant,  the  Regional  Lay  Servant,  Fr.  Noel  Balderas,  Fr.  Edwin  Barlizo  and  Rev.  Francis  Quan  Ngoc  Le.

GPS’   DAY.   The   General   Priest   Servant   celebrated   his  birthday  through  a  lunch  with  the  Formation  Center  res-­‐idents,  the  Kapamilya-­‐SOLT  and  his  family  last  Novem-­‐ber  28  at  the  Regionalate.

MEETING  WITH  THE  GPS.  The  General  Priest  Servant  

of  the  RPS  and  right  after  the  lunch  of  November  28.

KAPAMILYA   ANNIVERSARY.   Fr.   Fausto   Rodel   Malan-­‐yaon   celebrated   a  mass   to   commemorate   the  death   of  Celedonio,   father   of   Fr.   Noel   Balderas,   last   November  30  at  La  Purisima,  Bula,  Camarines  Sur.  Concelebrating  during  the  event  were  Fr.  Noel,  Fr.  Edwin  Barlizo,  Fr.  Te-­‐odolfo  Medina  and  Rev.  Leonardo  Besmonte,  Jr.

DECEMBERRPS  VISITS.  The  Regional  Priest  Servant  made  admin-­‐istrative  visits  to  Fr.  Dulcisimo  Olavario,  Jr.,  in  his  home  and  also  Fr.  Adrian  Lasin  in  San  Antonio  de  Padua  Parish,  Milaor,  Camarines  Sur,  last  December  2.

MEETINGS  WITH  THE  GPS.  The  General  Priest  Servant  met   the  Regional  Priest  Servant   for  a  meeting   last  De-­‐cember  3.  He  also  met  the  Regional  Priest  Council  for  a  meeting  in  the  afternoon  of  December  8.

MISSION  VISIT.  The  Regional  Priest  Servant  left  for  Vi-­‐etnam  last  December  4  for  an  audience  with  Cardinal  JB  Pham  Minh  Man,  DD,  Archbishop  of  Saigon.  He,  together  with  Fr.  Peter  Giao  Van  Nguyen  and  Fr.  Peter  Phan  Khac  Tu,  Parish  Priest  of  Fr.  Giao,  appeared  before  the  Cardi-­‐nal  at  4pm  of  the  following  day.  

The  Reginal  Priest  Servant  came  back  to  the  Forma-­‐tion  Center  last  December  8.

FIRST   PROFESSION.   Novices   Mary   Niene   Barquilla,  Mary   Orapit   Ketkulphan,  Ma.   Lourdes   Palero,   and  Ma.  

-­‐fore  the  General  Priest  Servant-­‐delegate  of  the  General  Sister  Servant  last  December  8,  9am,  at  the  Priests’  No-­‐vitiate  Chapel.  

Novice  Mary  Niene  was  now  known  as  Sr.  Pia  Marie,  Novice   Mary   Orapit   as   Sr.   Mary   Benedict,   Novice   Ma.  Lourdes  as  Sr.  Ma.  Paula  De  Jesus  and  Novice  Ma.  Lorah  as  Sr.  Ma.  Cristina.

ther  Founder  gave  a  message  regarding  the  Immaculate  Conception  to  the  Community  present  and  to  the  Forma-­‐tion  Houses  in  Naga  City  through  the  internet.  

ADMISSION,   INSTALLATION.  Bro.   Jose  Maria  Bombita  was  admitted  by  the  General  Priest  Servant  as  a  Candi-­‐date  to  the  Sacred  Orders  last  December  8,  9am,  at  the  Priests  Novitiate  Chapel.  

In   the   same   celebration,   Bros.   James   Andrew   Cas-­‐tillo  and  Michael  del  Rosario  were  installed  as  Readers  and  Bros.  Mario  Balana,  Danny  Franco  Bitara,  Anthony  Pabon,  Andrew  de  Vera  and  Jordan  Avila  as  Acolytes.

DIOCESAN  CHRISTMAS  PARTY.  The  Formation  Center  residents  joined  the  Diocese  of  Sorsogon  for  the  Christ-­‐mas   Party   for   the   Clergy,   Religious   and  Parents   of   the  Clergy  last  December  9.

INSTALLATION  OF  BISHOP.  The  Society  of  Our  Lady’s  family  graced  the  installation  of  the  Most  Reverend  Joel  Baylon,  DD,  as  the  new  Bishop  of  the  Diocese  of  Legazpi  last  December  10,  4pm,  at  the  Cathedral  of  St.  Gregory  the  Great,  Legazpi  City.

DIALOGUE.  The  Regional  Priest  Servant  met  Fr.  Pedro  Balde,   Jr.,   for  a  dialogue   last  December  11,  8pm,  at  his  

AUDIENCES  WITH  BISHOPS.  The  Regional  Priest  Serv-­‐ant  appeared  for  an  audience  before  the  Most  Reverend  Gilbert  Garcera,  DD,  Bishop  of  the  Diocese  of  Daet,   last  December  12,  9am,  and  before  the  Most  Reverend  Anto-­‐

LAY   TEACHING   AND   FORMATION.   Six   lay   members-­‐parishioners  of  the  Parish  of  Our  Lady  of  the  Most  Holy  Rosary,   Badian,   Oas,   Albay,   attended   the   Lay   Teaching  and  Formation  last  December  12.

The  Regional  Lay  Servant  facilitated  and  conducted  the  event.

BIRTHDAY  CELEBRATION.  Fr.  Henry  Bercasio  celebrat-­‐ed  his  birthday  with   the  Holy  Family  parishioners,  his  family    and  the  Formation  Center  residents  last  Decem-­‐ber  13  at  the  Rectory  of  the  Parish.

MISSION   EXPOSURE.   Six   priest-­‐aspirants,   two   lay-­‐as-­‐pirants,  Ate  Ellen  Abuel   and  Ate  Norma  Plopino  had  a  

-­‐lid,  Claveria,  Masbate.

A  Pre-­‐Fielding  Recollection  and  Orientation  was  fa-­‐cilitated  by  the  Regional  Priest  Servant  at  the  Formation  Center  the  day  on  December  14.

SIMBANG  GABI.  The  priests-­‐residents  of  the  Regionalate  helped  the  parishes  during  the  dawn  Novena  Masses  for  

Priest  Servant  helped  the  Holy  Cross  Parish,  Fr.  Noel  Bald-­‐eras  and  Fr.  Edwin  Barlizo  helped  the  Holy  Family  Parish,  and  the  Regional  Lay  Servant  helped  St.  Isidore  Parish.  

PEARL  ANNIVERSARY.  The  Rebirth  Therapeutic  Center,  Thailand,  celebrated  its  30th  Foundation  Anniversary.  

A  procession  was  made  within  the  compound  on  the  evening  of  December  18,  which  started  with  the  Gospel  

The   Most   Reverend   John   Bosco   Panya   Kitcharoen,  DD,  Bishop  of  the  Diocese  of  Ratchaburi,  presided  over  the  celebration  of  the  Mass  in  the  morning  of  December  19.  Thirty  Diocesan  and  Religious  priests  concelebrated.  In   attendance   was   the   congregation   composed   of   the  Provincial   Governor,  Ministers,   parents   of   the   trainees  and  the  trainees  themselves.

A   show   presented   by   the   trainees   was   held   after  lunch  of  the  same  day.

The  Regional  Priest  Servant  left  for  Thailand  on  De-­‐cember  18  and  arrived  back  to  Manila  on  the  20th.

The  Society  of  Our  Lady  family  was  also  the  sponsor  of  the  sixth  novena  mass,  December  23,  which  was  pre-­‐sided  over  by  Fr.  Alejandro  Bellen.

CHRISTMAS   PARTY.  The   Formation   Center   personnel  gathered   last   December   27,   3pm,   for   their   Christmas  Party.   The   event   started   with   the   Eucharist   presided  over  by   the  Regional  Priest   Servant.  Games  and  agape  followed  right  after.

FAMILY  DAY.  The  members  of  the  Society  of  Our  Lady,  Kapamilya-­‐SOLT  and  some  SOLT  parishioners  gathered  for  the  annual  Family  Day  held  at  the  Formation  Center  last  December  29-­‐30.  

The  event  started  with  the  tree  planting  at  the  For-­‐mation  Center  grounds  in  the  morning  of  December  29.  Games  were  facilitated  right  after  lunch,  followed  by  the  Eucharist  presided  over  by  the  Regional  Priest  Servant  in  the  evening.  A  program  showcasing  the  presentations  from   the   Apostolic   Houses,   parishes   and   guests   hap-­‐pened  after  supper  despite  the  occasional  rain  showers.

The  assembly  gathered  again  for  the  Eucharist  pre-­‐sided  over  by  Fr.  Adrian  Lasin  at  7am  of  December  30  and  before  going  home.
