Tetra Tech Solar Engineering ProjectsTetra Tech has experience serving in nearly every capacity on solar projects for a variety of client types varying from developers, IPPs, EPCs, investors, OEMs and compliance managers serving in due diligence, design, owner, or independent engineer roles.
Virginia Based UtilityVirginia Based Utility has contracted with Tetra Tech to performOwner’s Engineer services for their solar energy developmentprojects throughout the state of Virginia. These engineering services ensure solar energy project designs and their construction meet the appropriate technical specifications and are in compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, permitting requirements, and agency approvals. Services being provided include the following:
• Performing third-party technical reviews of the civil, electrical, and structural engineering design package deliverables at the 50%, 90%, and Issued for Construction project phases
• Providing field oversight during on-site construction activities to ensure conformance to the approved design documents
• Delivering solar project conceptual design drawings including the preliminary layout, solar perimeter shading analysis, and topographic evaluation
• Developing and delivering project civil design packages fully incorporating the management of erosion, sediment, and stormwater
• Generating financeable PVsyst energy simulations and associated deliverable sets
• Producing single line diagrams for AC and DC systems
Skipjack Solar Energy Center — AES (S-Power) AES (sPower) selected Tetra Tech to complete the civil andstructural design and obtain permit approvals for the 175-MW(est.) Skipjack Solar project based on our high-quality workand dedication to meet their aggressive 10-week submittalschedule. The scope of work has included the following:
• Performing an in-depth review of civil and structural designs to identify and correct any deficiencies, omissions, errors or fatal flaws that could impact the permit approval process
• Reviewing the designs from a constructibility standpoint and making the necessary corrections to reduce the potential for issues occurring during the construction and operation phase of the project
• Providing construction support services by responding to requests for information (RFIs) and performing periodic construction inspections during the period of construction
• Generating the final As-Built Drawings
Panasonic Corporation of North AmericaTetra Tech provides solar performance engineering consultingservices for a portfolio of photovoltaic (PV) projects throughout North America.
