Geography

• Located on the Balkan and Peloponnesus peninsula

• You MUST KNOW Athens, Sparta, Troy, and Macedonia

Political Development

• The Mountainous terrain created separate city-states. (EX: Athens and Sparta… They are located in Ancient Greece but they are completely different!)

• Poor farm land and overpopulation caused them to search of arable (farmable) land

• Greek Mythology– Polytheistic– Offered explanations on:• Natural phenomena, human qualities, and life events

• Known for Direct Democracy (ADD – Athens Direct Democracy)
