Elena Sohryakova is a master of sports of Russia in skating.

She was born on November

4th, 1990. Elena is a second-year student at the Ivanovo Power Engineering University.

She began skating practicing in 1999. Elena is coached by Olga Kuvshinova – a coach of the highest category - at youth sports school of Olympic reserve № 8 "Spartacus."

An athlete was in the youth team of Russia in 2008-09. She was a member of the core team of Russian Speed Skating Championships in 2010-2011. Elena was a candidate of the country's Olympic team for the Olympic Games in Vancouver in 2010. 

In 2009, Helen became the first in the Russian Cup Championships in Moscow (distances - 500, 1000, 1500 and 3000 m). The same year at the World Cup in the Netherlands, Elena Sohryakova was the best skater on the sum of all-around and won a silver medal in the distances of 500, 1,000, 1,500 and 3,000 m. Exactly the same result the athlete showed in the Championship of Russia among juniors in Kolomna.

The skater won a "silver" at a distance of 1000 m and a "bronze" at a distance of 3000 m at the I All-Russian Winter Universiade 2010 In March 2010, Helen became the winner of the World Junior Championship: the 3rd place - at 3000m and the 4th place - in the command race.

After these victories the athlete has moved from the category of "juniors" in the main women's national team. Elena Sohryakova took part in the qualifying rounds for the World Cup, where she won the first place at the 3000 and 5000 meters in 2010 and became the gold medalist of the World Cup 3 in Norway at a distance of 5000 m. In March 2011 Elena won two gold medals of the Russian Championship in Chelyabinsk (distance - 3000 and 5000m). 

Elena participates every year in the relay race for the prize of the newspaper "The working area" and "The Cross of Nations", takes part in all the cultural events held in the city. 

In addition to the sport, Elena enjoys reading books and she is fond of computers.
