With an unrivalled range of functionality, all delivered using user friendly web technologies, Uniclass Waste Management is the UK’s leading solution for all Waste Management, Kerbside Collection, Recycling and Street Cleansing requirements.

Software Solutions for Waste Management

The Uniclass Waste Management software is a fully integrated solution designed to streamline the administration of waste management, kerbside collections, caretaking services and street cleansing operations.

The solution helps meet the challenges of improving frontline services cost effectively by providing up-to - date information on rounds, appointments, jobs, properties and assets. Uniclass Waste Management acts as a 'hub' through which all data flows and from which all reports are generated. The ROCC mobile working solution allows current paper based processes to be replaced and enables rounds and jobs to be processed directly by the operational crews. This ensures that the organisation is completely up to date on the status of these when answering citizen queries and allows any remedial actions, such as resolving missed and contaminated bins, to be made whilst the rounds are still active

The system comes complete with an integral Contact Centre for handling citizen enquires and work requests, alternatively it can plug into any corporate CRM. The system can also integrate with the corporate finance system for commercial waste invoicing and weighbridge and DEFRA online system for waste dataflow management

Powerful searches and diagnostic scripts guide operators through structured decision trees so that enquiries and requests for services are assigned and prioritised in accordance with targets and business rules. ‘Traffic Light’ indicators give instant visual warning of approaching deadlines.

Deployment of Uniclass WM is extremely flexible and scalable. The technical architecture and use of standards such as XML and SQL facilitates integration with other citizen facing systems such as CRM, self-service web forms and Geographical Information Systems and also with Corporate Finance and Business Information systems.

“The most important difference it has made is that there is far more automation of processes. We also hold much better data which we can access more easily, so we can give better customer service. We can also report quickly and accurately on the services provided, so have a much better management tool.” Wealden District Council

Uniclass Waste Management is a single, fully integrated web based system, which consists of the following modules:

Contact Centre/Enquiries Desk

Gaining best value for citizens and service providers at your first point of contact, your waste management service often involves complex information being presented in an accessible format and in real time.

The Contact Centre meets this challenge by channeling expert knowledge through leading edge technologies so that service requests are accurately logged and enquiries are dealt with efficiently. The first step is identifying the caller details and the system has a comprehensive database which contains citizen, address and asset details.

Once these details have been confirmed the work or information that is required can be defined. This is achieved using a user definable script function which can be used to mirror the various service areas provided. Once this is done the date, time and status of the call is automatically recorded and the call is allocated to the appropriate person.

Mobile Solutions

This enables real-time communication between office based and mobile teams and covers the following functions:

Vehicle Check Work Requests Work Enquiries Location & Round Enquiries

ROCC’s mobile solutions enable easy connectivity for operatives and other remote workers to respond rapidly to changing demands and report on the progress of work in real time. Mobile working and remote data capture enables organisations to gain added value through optimal utilisation of their employees’ time while working remotely.

Using handheld devices specifically programmed for the job, mobile solutions provide tangible improvements in business and personal productivity, as well as speed, accuracy and consistency of data.

Appointments

The appointment system is based on a number of slots which are divided into user defined periods such as morning or evening. The number of slots per period is also user defined. This allows appointments to be scheduled for activities such as white or bulky goods collections.

Property Database including attributes

The system has a comprehensive asset management database. This enables assets such as properties, bins and citizen details to be recorded and a detailed inventory of property attributes to be defined. Assets and properties can be grouped into contracts, areas, estates and wards so that management and reporting can be consolidated as required. Each asset can have detailed map reference information associated with it so the data can be represented using a GIS layer.

The system also allows hazard information to be defined such as property access or citizen warnings. These are automatically displayed when processing the request.

Document Attachments

The system has a fully integrated document storage and retrieval module. This allows all types of documents including; pictures, letters and certificates to be stored in a document warehouse and linked to database items such as the property or job where they can be retrieved as required. This enables documents such as duty of care certificates, fly tip evidence, waste transfer notes or trade waste contracts to be managed.

Rounds

This allows any type of round to be generated including domestic, trade or clinical. Various bin types and location

details can be defined for each property. Multiple rounds can be defined for each property. This allows for the management of one-off jobs, bin management, missed bins, bins-not-presented, contaminated bins, etc. In addition the system allows for street cleansing functions including BV 195 inspections and rounds.

Trade waste

The system has a fully functional and integrated trade waste module which enables each trade waste contract to be defined and automatically generated for each period including the production of sales invoices.

Clinical waste

The clinical waste module allows for a completely separate and confidential register and round to be defined and managed.

Uniclass Dashboard Reports

The Uniclass dashboard has been developed using leading edge technology to provide a rich and flexible user experience.

The Uniclass dashboard provides users with a constantly refreshed view of any information.

The dashboard has pre-built standard reports which allow contract managers to monitor their key performance indicators in an easy to interpret visual format. The dashboard also comes complete with a fully functional report designer and builder allowing users to create any report they need.

Uniclass dashboard users have the freedom to customise their environment by creating their own reports, scheduling and emailing reports, modifying screen layout and even incorporating their own icons and links to their favourite systems.

Standard LLPG import This allows for the

input and matching of properties from the LLPG.

Waste Dataflow Management

This enables for the comprehensive management of both the collection and disposal aspects of Waste Dataflow. The system allows for multiple sources of data to be automatically collected from weighbridges and recycling centres. It also caters for the manual input of data from charity shops and other sources. This data can be adjusted and extensive validation can be applied to check the weighbridge ticket, vehicle details and tonnage prior to applying a set of user defined rules to label the materials according to the standard DEFRA disposal descriptions and material classifications Finally a verified exported file and report are produced to update Waste Data Flow
